Dong Da Ward rewarded 60 outstanding collectives and individuals at the 1st Sports Congress

On November 24, Dong Da ward held the Closing Ceremony of the 1st Sports Congress in 2025.

The 1st Dong Da Ward Sports Festival was held from October 1 to November 1, 2025; attracting more than 1,200 athletes to participate in the parade and show of force.

According to the assessment, the preparation and organization of the Congress were carried out seriously and on schedule, receiving the attention and direction of the Party Committee and the government. The units issued plans, established the Organizing Committee, developed regulations and ensured full conditions for competition, aiming to turn the Congress into a widespread activity, promoting the mass sports movement, associated with the Campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho".

There are 10 schools and units in the area participating with 945 athletes, competing in 11 events including: Athletics, tug of war, table tennis, badminton, shuttlecock, chess, football, basketball, taekwondo and aerobics. Thereby, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, spreading the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility - Progress".

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded a total of 382 medals, including 106 gold medals, 106 silver medals and 170 bronze medals. Nearly 100 officials, teachers, coaches, referees and support staff were mobilized to ensure that the competition activities took place safely and in accordance with regulations.

In the competition, many units achieved outstanding results. In particular, at the city-level competitions, Dong Da ward won 20 medals in 7 events: Taekwondo, swimming, table tennis, sports dancing, Vovinam, Chinese chess and tug of war; including 8 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 7 bronze medals. Taekwondo took the lead with 5 gold medals.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman of Dong Da Ward People's Committee Nguyen Trong Hai emphasized that the results achieved are a testament to the strong development of the grassroots sports movement. The athletes competed with great effort, contributing many beautiful performances; the Organizing Committee and the referee team worked responsibly and impartially; the people cheered enthusiastically, contributing to the overall success of the Congress.

The Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee expressed his belief that the mass sports movement in the area will continue to develop extensively, contributing to building a healthy cultural life and realizing the socio -economic goals of the ward in the new term.

At the closing ceremony, Dong Da ward honored 25 collectives and 35 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing, serving and participating in the 1st Sports Congress.
