O Cho Dua Ward implements plan to rename residential groups

On the afternoon of July 12, the People's Committee of O Cho Dua Ward held a conference to deploy the plan to rename the ward's residential groups and guide voters to vote on the renaming plan.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of O Cho Dua Ward Trinh Dan Ly said: The ward has a natural area of 1.82km2; population size of 72,586 people. The ward currently has 68 residential groups.

The residential groups of Cat Linh ward (old), Hang Bot ward (old), O Cho Dua ward (old), Trung Liet ward (old), Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward (old), Thanh Cong ward (old) and Dien Bien ward (old) merged into O Cho Dua ward (new) most of them have the same name.

Therefore, the Ward People's Committee has drafted a plan to rename residential groups, ensuring consistency in management based on the following principles: For residential groups that are merged, the names of new residential groups are numbered from 01 to 68 to avoid confusion and minimize corrections to administrative documents related to people's addresses; numbering from North to South, starting with the previous wards in order: Dien Bien Ward (old) to Cat Linh Ward (old), Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward (old), O Cho Dua Ward (old), Hang Bot Ward (old), Thanh Cong Ward (old) and Trung Liet Ward (old).

In compliance with the Law on Organization of Local Government 2025 and the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs , O Cho Dua Ward is currently implementing steps according to regulations to rename the residential group with the same name appropriately; at the same time, propagating to all people, creating high unity and consensus.

Specifically, the plan to rename 68 residential groups in O Cho Dua ward is as follows:

The residential groups of Dien Bien ward (old) become 1 residential group: No. 01; the residential groups of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward (old) become 9 residential groups: from No. 12 to 20; the residential groups of Cat Linh ward (old) become 11 residential groups: from No. 02 to No. 09 and 43, 44, 45; the residential groups of Hang Bot ward (old) become 11 residential groups: No. 21, 22, 23, from 31 to 36, 49, 50; the residential groups of O Cho Dua ward (old) become 32 residential groups: No. 10, 11, from 24 to 30, from 37 to 42, 46, 47, 48, from 51 to 57, from 59 to 65; Thanh Cong ward residential groups (old) into 3 residential groups: No. 58, 66, 67; Trung Liet ward residential groups (old) into 1 residential group: No. 68.

The time for collecting opinions is expected to be on July 12 and 13, 2025, in the form of distributing ballots to voters representing households. The residential groups will complete the collection of opinions on changing the name of the residential group, synthesize the results and complete the dossier according to regulations.
