Prudential Vietnam maintains its position as a sustainable and responsible business

Recently, Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited was honored for the 8th consecutive time within the framework of the Ceremony to announce Vietnam's sustainable enterprises 2024 - an award honoring enterprises with sustainable growth and positive contributions to the life of the community in the context of globalization.

Representing Prudential Vietnam to receive the certificate of merit at the event, Mr. Manish Gurbuxani - Senior Representative in charge of strategy and transformation of Prudential shared: “Throughout the 25-year journey in Vietnam and 176 years globally, sustainable and responsible development has always been the core element in all our activities. Being recognized in the CSI 100 list for the 8th consecutive time by a prestigious organization such as the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) is a great encouragement for the Prudential Vietnam team on the journey of sustainable development.

We will continue to be steadfast in this strategy and constantly look at ourselves and improve to create better impacts for our customers, employees, partners and communities in any country we operate.”

It can be seen that, through compliance with ESG sustainable development standards (E-Environment, S-Society, G-Governance), Prudential has continuously maintained and promoted the role of a model, responsible enterprise through practical initiatives such as applying technological advances in customer service, fulfilling community responsibilities, and building a safe and progressive working environment for employees.

In early April 2024, Prudential also launched the unit-linked fund “PRUlink-Green Future” with a sustainable development orientation. The three main investment areas targeted by this fund include: Climate, Health, and Progress. Diversifying the investment portfolio, focusing on responsible investment and sustainable development clearly demonstrates Prudential's responsibility in action.

Following the signing of the JETP (Just Energy Transition Partnership) agreement in 2022, the private sector will have an important role to play in supporting the Government of Vietnam to achieve its goal of net zero emissions by 2050. Prudential, together with other private financial institutions, has been continuously seeking to participate in this program to support Vietnam’s JETP Resource Mobilization Plan, to implement JETP funding and strategy.

In terms of product solutions, Prudential is making strategic investments in the Healthcare segment to narrow the insurance and protection gap for Vietnamese people as well as provide health and critical illness management solutions.

The announcement ceremony of Vietnam Sustainable Enterprises 2024 took place on the evening of November 29 in Hanoi with the theme "Enterprises rising in the Green Era", marking the 9th year the program has been implemented under the direction of the Government to recognize and commend enterprises that have performed well in sustainable production and business activities in all aspects: economic efficiency - corporate governance - society - environment.

This year, the program for assessing and announcing sustainable enterprises in Vietnam (CSI) has announced a number of new updates in the CSI 2024 Index. Accordingly, of the total 153 indicators, 62% are compliance indicators, 38% are advanced indicators. With the majority of compliance indicators, the CSI assessment criteria this time also show that ensuring compliance with legal requirements is an important foundation for sustainable business development.
