Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic ideology is a priceless heritage of the Vietnamese people.

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, on May 17, the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh coordinated with the Bangladeshi Scholars Group researching President Ho Chi Minh to organize a seminar on "Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic ideology heritage and Vietnam's achievements as an active member of the international community" in the capital Dhaka.

The seminar was attended by Professor Nakib M. Nasrullah, Vice President of Kushtia University, researchers, scholars from several research institutes, major universities, lecturers, teachers and a large number of students, pupils and people of Bangladesh who have special feelings for President Ho Chi Minh and the country and people of Vietnam.

Speaking at the seminar, Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong reviewed some main features of the life, background, revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh and his great contributions in the struggle for national liberation, national reunification, bringing independence, freedom and happiness to the Vietnamese people.

The Ambassador shared about the great values ​​of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country, especially in the field of foreign affairs of Vietnam. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh advised the generations of leaders who followed him to focus on strengthening friendly relations and cooperation with neighboring countries, properly handling relations with major countries in the direction of "making friends with all democratic countries and not creating enmity with anyone".

The Ambassador affirmed that, up to now, Ho Chi Minh's diplomatic ideology still retains its value, is a priceless heritage of the Vietnamese people, and has been inherited, promoted, and flexibly applied by the Party and State of Vietnam in all policies and strategies on foreign affairs and international integration.

During the discussion, scholars and researchers expressed their respect for President Ho Chi Minh and special affection for the country and people of Vietnam.

Sharing about the moment when Bangladeshi people took to the streets to march in support of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh right after Bangladesh regained independence in 1971 in the Vietnamese people's struggle against American imperialism, researchers affirmed that the two countries have many similarities in the history of the struggle for national liberation and until now have always been close friends, supporting each other in the cause of national construction and development.

Some scholars shared their feelings and thoughts about President Ho Chi Minh as well as expressed their admiration for Vietnam's great achievements in socio -economics, science and technology, and foreign affairs in recent years.

Scholars and researchers agree that the history of the struggle for independence and national unification and the achievements in building and developing the country of the Vietnamese people are a source of inspiration for many peoples in the world to learn, research and apply in their own homeland and country. Bangladesh can learn from Vietnam's development experience to soon develop its domestic economy, towards leaving the United Nations' Group of Least Developed Countries by 2026.

Scholars and researchers expressed their respect for President Ho Chi Minh and special affection for the country and people of Vietnam.

Some Bangladeshi scholars, lecturers and teachers have composed their own poems praising President Ho Chi Minh and the history of the Vietnamese people's struggle for national liberation. Many local guests attending the seminar expressed their hope to visit Vietnam soon to directly learn and experience the culture and life of the Vietnamese people.

Previously, on May 16, as is customary every year, the Embassy coordinated with the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Bangladesh to solemnly organize the 135th Birthday Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.

The ceremony was attended by all staff of the Embassy and a large number of Vietnamese people in Bangladesh.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Ambassador affirmed that his thoughts and feelings for overseas Vietnamese have always been preserved, inherited and promoted by generations of Party and State leaders. Our Party and State always consider overseas Vietnamese as an inseparable part and a resource of the Vietnamese ethnic community, an important factor contributing to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relations between our country and other countries, as affirmed by General Secretary To Lam in the article titled "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one" that: "All Vietnamese people, whether at home or abroad, regardless of which side of history they have stood on, share the same origin, the same language, the same love for their homeland and country".

The Ambassador hopes that the Vietnamese community in Bangladesh will continue to promote the movement of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, upholding national pride, preserving traditional cultural identity, uniting, loving and helping each other, maintaining close ties with family and homeland, contributing to the cause of national construction and development. The Ambassador hopes that the Vietnamese community will consider the Embassy as a common home, always ready to support them in all aspects of life in the host country.

At the ceremony, many overseas Vietnamese spoke, expressing their respect and gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, mentioning the love and admiration that people around the world and Bangladesh have for President Ho Chi Minh.

On behalf of all Vietnamese people living and working in the area, Mr. Do Van Trong, Head of the Liaison Committee of the Vietnamese Community in Bangladesh, promised to make every effort to study and follow the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh and affirmed to continue to join hands with the Embassy to annually celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's birthday as well as other community activities to strengthen national unity and promote the Vietnamese community in Bangladesh to become more united and stronger.
