Major General Tong Van Thanh said that the Ministry of National Defense is the unit assigned by the Central Government to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi City and related ministries and branches to prepare for the parade at Ba Dinh Square on the morning of September 2.

Since the second quarter of 2024, the Ministry of National Defense has assigned relevant units to conduct field surveys at Ba Dinh Square, assembly areas, and parade routes, and to organize workshops to seek opinions from relevant ministries, branches, and localities. All preparations for this event have been very thoughtful and elaborate.

Mr. Thanh said that there are 6 forces participating in the parade. Specifically, they include: Traditional torch bearer and fire guard; ceremonial artillery force; air force flying salute; parade and marching force; background force, including the ceremonial guard, 11 military units and 7 police units; and formation and letter formation force chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The parade force includes: 4 honor guard units, 43 units representing the People's Armed Forces (including 26 Army units and 17 units under the Ministry of Public Security); and foreign military units. As planned, Vietnam invited 4 countries: China, Russia, Laos, and Cambodia to participate in the parade. So far, Laos and Cambodia have accepted. With Russia and China, Vietnamese agencies are continuing to coordinate to determine the participating forces of the two countries.

In addition, there are also military vehicles and artillery, special police vehicles, sea parade forces, 12 mass parade groups and 1 cultural and sports group.

Regarding the parade program, Major General Tong Van Thanh said there will be torch relays, ceremonial fireworks, air force salutes, military parades, and marches of the groups in the following order: parade of the honor guard; parade of the walking groups (Vietnam People's Army, foreign military, militia and self-defense, and then the police).

After the parade, the march of the walking group will be followed by the parade of vehicles, military artillery, special police vehicles and the parade of armed forces at sea in Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa).

After the blocks pass the stage, at the end of Hung Vuong Street, they will divide into lines, parade, and march on some streets to show the solidarity between the blocks and the people. Along with that, there will be cultural and artistic exchanges at the Quan Ngua Sports and Culture Palace and the August Revolution Square at the Opera House.

Regarding the training results, Mr. Thanh said that the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security have directed the training of forces participating in this mission since the beginning of May, organizing 4 joint training sessions and 2 combined training sessions on July 17 and August 5.

Through joint training and comprehensive training, it shows that the training blocks have good quality, in accordance with the training program. Currently, the spirit, responsibility, health, and technical conditions of the blocks are all ready for the official ceremony.

Rehearsal time and main ceremony

According to Major General Tong Van Thanh, the general training of the armed forces will take place from 8:00 p.m. on August 21 and 24; followed by the State-level preliminary rehearsal from 8:00 p.m. on August 27; the State-level general rehearsal at 6:30 a.m. on August 30 and the official ceremony at 6:30 a.m. on September 2, all at Ba Dinh Square.

"The parade contributes to affirming the position, great stature, and great historical value of the August Revolution and the birth of the country, and the continuous growth of the People's Army, Militia and Self-Defense Force and People's Public Security over the past 80 years, under the wise leadership of the Party," Major General Tong Van Thanh emphasized.

The event also helps educate the tradition, revolutionary ideals, patriotism and pride, self-respect, the spirit of great national unity, deeply inculcate the morality of drinking water remembering its source, expressing deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood for the independence, freedom and unity of the Fatherland. Thereby, arousing revolutionary heroism, the will to be self-reliant and the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country.

The parade demonstrates the strength of the people's armed forces, affirms the will of the entire Party, people and army, and is determined to successfully carry out the cause of national renewal and firmly protect the Fatherland in all situations.
