Flash floods suddenly hit mountainous villages in Nghe An

On the afternoon of August 15, Mr. Lo Van Giap, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huu Khuong Commune (Nghe An Province) said that the local government is focusing on helping people overcome the consequences of flash floods.

At about 1:30 a.m. the same day, a local flash flood occurred in San village (Huu Khuong commune).

Floodwaters from upstream poured into Huoi Phi May stream, carrying soil, rocks and mud into many houses. The flood did not cause any casualties, but eight houses were severely damaged; many houses had mud and rocks infiltrated, causing damage to furniture.

Immediately after the flood occurred, in addition to organizing emergency evacuation of people to safety, the authorities of Huu Khuong commune concentrated forces to help people overcome the consequences.
