Vietnam-China relations become a model of friendship, solidarity and cooperation

Over the past 75 years, Vietnam-China relations have developed from a traditional friendship of “being both comrades and brothers” into a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

According to a VNA reporter in Beijing, in recent days, official Chinese media agencies such as Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television (CCTV), People's Daily, Global Times..., have simultaneously reported on the activities of high-ranking leaders of Vietnam and China on the occasion of visits and participation in activities celebrating major holidays in the two countries.

According to Chinese media, speaking during talks with President Liang Qiang during his working trip to China to attend the 80th anniversary of the world people's victory over fascism and to work, Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed that Vietnam and China need to together engrave history, remember their predecessors and heroic martyrs, strengthen strategic cooperation, preserve the victory in World War II, protect international justice and fairness, and firmly stand on the right side of history.

President Xi Jinping stressed that China supports Vietnam in following a socialist path suitable to its own situation and successfully organizing the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam . In the spirit of “being both comrades and brothers,” the two sides need to deepen the exchange of experiences in Party building and national governance, and well organize activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-China Year of Humanitarian Exchange, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries.

Meanwhile, speaking at a meeting with President Liang Qiang on the afternoon of September 4 in Beijing, Comrade Zhao Leji, Politburo Standing Committee member and Chairman of the National People's Congress (the National Assembly) of China, emphasized that China and Vietnam always adhere to the socialist path in accordance with the situation of each country. China is ready to work with Vietnam to effectively implement the results achieved during General Secretary Xi Jinping's visit to Vietnam in April this year, strengthen strategic trust, firmly support each other, and develop together.

The National People's Congress of China is willing to strengthen exchanges with the National Assembly of Vietnam and make active contributions to deepening the strategic significance of building the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future.

Previously, according to CCTV, at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man, Comrade Trieu Lac Te, member of the Politburo Standing Committee, Chairman of the National People's Congress of China, led a high-ranking delegation of the Party and State of China to pay an official visit to Vietnam and attend the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam's National Day on September 2, taking place from August 31 to September 2, 2025.

During the visit, Comrade Trieu Lac Te had meetings with General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and held talks with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Speaking at the meetings, Comrade Trieu Lac Te said that China is willing to cooperate with Vietnam to implement the important common perceptions reached by the two Parties' senior leaders, enhance the exchange of state management experiences according to the common goal of "6 more", jointly promote socialist modernization in each country and accelerate the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

The Chairman of the National People's Congress of China stressed that China and Vietnam need to bring into play the advantages of the socialist system to cope with the uncertainties of the external situation, resolutely support each other's reform and development, and jointly oppose unilateralism and protectionism.

Comrade Zhao Leji said that China is willing to strengthen development strategy connectivity with Vietnam, raise the level of cooperation in traditional fields, strengthen cooperation in emerging fields, and jointly maintain the multilateral trade system and the smooth flow of the global production and supply chain.

Speaking during talks with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Comrade Trieu Lac Te expressed that the Chinese people wish to raise the level of institutionalized exchanges with the Vietnamese National Assembly, learn from each other's legislative and supervisory experiences, and at the same time create legal conditions for practical cooperation between the two countries.

Also according to CCTV, this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and is the “Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year.” China and Vietnam are geographically adjacent, culturally close, have close people, similar regimes, and intertwined destinies.
