The production and trading of wine in Bac Kan province has contributed to creating jobs and increasing income for workers, especially in rural areas. Local wine products have initially established brands and are trusted by markets inside and outside the province.

Up to now, the whole province has 06 wine products participating and achieving 3-star OCOP products at the provincial level, which are wine products of Tan Dan Cooperative; Phuc Ba Cooperative; Que Thanh OCOP Cooperative; Duc Ben Agricultural Service Cooperative. Particularly, Bang Phuc Leaf Yeast Wine and Thanh Tam Leaf Yeast Wine are OCOP products achieving 4-star at the provincial level. In particular, the white wine product of Thanh Tam Leaf Yeast Wine Cooperative produced in Bang Phuc commune, Cho Don district has initially received orders for products exported to the Japanese market.

To effectively carry out management work, departments, branches and localities regularly strengthen the review of alcohol production and trading activities in the province, such as: Licensing, registration, declaration in alcohol production; labeling of alcohol products, affixing alcohol product stamps; ensuring food safety in alcohol production and trading; environmental protection... At the same time, step up propaganda and guidance for organizations such as enterprises, cooperatives and individuals engaged in the production of craft alcohol for business to register to use alcohol stamps, contributing to preventing tax losses in the area.

In addition, the Provincial Market Management Department proactively coordinates with functional forces and local authorities to inspect and control establishments producing, trading and transporting alcohol to detect and strictly handle acts of trading and transporting alcohol of unknown origin, smuggled alcohol, alcohol without a license, violations of product labeling, advertising, violations of self-declaration; establishments producing and trading in craft alcohol, places where goods are regularly exchanged, bought and sold, restaurants, etc. to protect the health, safety, rights and legitimate interests of consumers.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, as of December 2024, there were about 305 non-commercial alcohol production establishments in the province; 05 establishments were granted industrial alcohol production licenses with a capacity of about 2.4 million liters/year; 144 establishments were granted licenses to produce craft alcohol for business purposes. Regarding the use of alcohol stamps, there were 05 enterprises, 08 cooperatives, 89 individual business households granted licenses to produce industrial alcohol and produce craft alcohol for business purposes that registered to use stamps according to regulations. Also in 2024, the amount of special consumption tax was more than 827 million VND, an increase of more than 316 million VND compared to 2023.

Mr. Ha Sy Thang, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, shared that in reality, in the province, there are still households and individuals doing business and producing alcohol on a small scale, spontaneously, without a business license and without a production license. In addition, the awareness of alcohol producers and traders is still limited, and they do not fully understand the provisions of the law, such as food safety, origin, raw materials, registration, declaration, purchase of stickers, etc.

According to the provincial Tax Department, the production, purchase and sale of alcohol without invoices and documents causes difficulties for state management and tax management, resulting in loss of state budget revenue. In cases where sales to units and organizations require invoices and product quality testing, only then will alcohol production establishments register to buy stamps...

In the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee will continue to direct functional departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities to strengthen the management of alcohol production and trading activities in the area; manage alcohol products circulating on the market to ensure compliance with regulations on food safety, labeling of goods, stamping of alcohol products and other related conditions in accordance with regulations.../.
