Many items have prices that change daily, making it difficult to list them accurately.

Recently, many businesses, stores, and shopping centers have fully implemented price listing for products. Surveys conducted at shopping malls, supermarkets, and convenience stores throughout the province show that most counters and shelves are neatly arranged, displaying goods according to different product categories. All items are priced, making it easier for consumers to compare prices and choose products.

At Tinh Bien Market (Tinh Bien Ward), the market management board regularly organizes meetings with traders to promote and encourage civilized commercial conduct. In addition to encouraging proper arrangement of goods, the management unit also educates traders on strictly adhering to price listing regulations, selling at the correct price, with the correct goods and quality; and refraining from selling counterfeit, fake, smuggled, or goods of unknown origin. Mr. Le Van Trong (a tourist) shared: “Here, the goods are very diverse, the prices are very reasonable, and they are publicly displayed, so we feel very secure shopping. Especially, the traders are very friendly, making shopping very comfortable.”

My Binh Market is one of the reliable shopping destinations for residents of Long Xuyen ward and surrounding areas. It is one of the oldest and busiest markets. The goods sold there are quite diverse, ranging from clothing, shoes, bags, stationery to fresh and processed foods. According to a survey, traders in the market have a clever way of displaying product prices. Instead of displaying the full price, they replace it with the letter "K" to represent the unit "thousand". This method helps customers easily and quickly identify the price. Ms. Le Thi Thanh Tam (a local resident shopping at the market) said that writing product prices in a concise way helps consumers compare and evaluate products more easily. "For example, if a store displays the price of a product as '35K,' everyone understands it to be 35,000 VND. Keeping the price list this way avoids the clutter of too many zeros, and customers can easily identify the price at a glance. Buyers only need to take a quick look to know the price, and they won't feel guilty if they don't buy," Ms. Tam shared.

Shops and businesses are increasingly paying attention to price listing.

However, the implementation of price listing for goods is still not consistent, especially in traditional rural markets. According to many small traders, the wholesale prices of goods, especially essential items, are unstable. Many goods fluctuate daily or weekly, making it difficult to list prices. As for consumers, most still buy goods based on the habit of "buy and sell at will" without checking the price listings. Furthermore, shoppers in markets often haggle, so price listing is largely ineffective.

Price listing and selling at the listed price promotes transparency in the pricing of goods and services, making it easier for consumers to compare, choose, and protect their rights, while also creating a healthy business environment. This is a civilized commercial practice that should be encouraged, especially in areas with vibrant tourism activities and a large number of visitors coming to sightsee and shop.
