Hanoi Market Management: Resolutely inspect and handle counterfeit and smuggled goods

Continuing to promote the prevention and control of counterfeit goods, goods infringing intellectual property rights, smuggled goods and goods of unknown origin, especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Market Management Team No. 8 (Hanoi Market Management Department) has launched a peak period of market inspection and control during the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 in Phu Dong commune, Hanoi city.

Specifically, on August 15, Market Management Team No. 8 continued to coordinate with Phu Dong Commune Police to conduct a vehicle inspection of two trucks with license plates 17C-055.39 and 29H-603.99 that were parked in the area.

Through inspection, the authorities temporarily seized 6,855 kg of various types of fabric rolls, which were smuggled goods, and 2,000 women's and children's T-shirts of unknown origin, with a total estimated value of about 300 million VND. The case is currently being further verified and clarified for handling according to legal regulations.

On August 14, Market Management Team No. 8 inspected Thuan Loi Trading and Production Company Limited at 145 Dinh Xuyen Street, Phu Dong Commune. The inspection results showed that the company was trading 5,816 children's toy products (including stickers and various types of clay) without invoices or legal documents, with a total value of more than 27 million VND. In addition, the company violated regulations by not notifying the business location to the registration authority according to current regulations. The case is being handled by Market Management Team No. 8.

Previously, Market Management Team No. 8 coordinated with Phu Dong Commune Police to conduct a surprise inspection of a clothing business in Village 3, Phu Dong Commune.

Through inspection, the authorities discovered and temporarily seized 5,175 clothing products with signs of counterfeiting famous brands that are protected in Vietnam, such as: Chrome Hearts, Burberry, Givenchy, Christian Dior, Gucci, D&G, Louis Vuitton, Moncler, Loewe, Valentino. The total value of the goods is estimated at hundreds of millions of VND, and the above goods have no invoices or documents. In addition, the business establishment violated regulations on business location registration. Assessing that the case has signs of crime, Market Management Team No. 8 is continuing to complete the dossier and procedures to transfer to the police for handling according to regulations.

In the coming time, Market Management Team No. 8 will continue to closely coordinate with functional forces, strengthen inspection and control of the area, especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival to prevent smuggling, trade fraud, trading in counterfeit and poor quality goods, infringement of intellectual property rights, contributing to protecting consumer rights.
