Focus on professional and political training for teachers

Professional, technical and political training for management staff and teachers is a regular task of the provincial Department of Education and Training. In order to gather a large number of staff, teachers and employees to participate in training, this activity is mostly organized during the summer.

In the province, there are currently 632 schools from kindergarten to high school, 13 district-level vocational education and continuing education centers, 1 provincial vocational education and continuing education center, a total of over 300,000 students, more than 21,000 officials, civil servants, and employees ateducational institutions.

Every year, the Department of Education and Training and localities organize summer political training for more than 22,000 cadres, teachers and employees in the whole sector, achieving the set goals and requirements, meeting the depth of knowledge; the form and method of organization are agreed upon and supported by the team of managers and teachers in the province.

In order for political training classes to be implemented effectively, the Department of Education and Training always pays attention to the organization and carefully prepares the budget and facilities. The organization is very flexible, it can be centralized, online, direct combined with online; training materials are provided fully and promptly through Zalo groups, electronic information pages of units and localities; lectures of reporters have invested in equipment, electronic lesson plans to make the lectures more vivid, convey information to cadres and teachers intuitively, easy to understand, helping learners absorb the lectures effectively.

Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Duong, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Nguyen Binh Khiem Primary, Secondary and High School (Ha Long City), said: Every year, 100% of the school's teachers and staff participate in professional training courses organized by the Department of Education and Training with public schools. Professional training courses are usually held during the summer, in batches, by subject, by grade, and by grade level from mid-July to the end of September. For political training courses, the principal, group leader, vice principal, and civic education teachers participate, and are usually held at the beginning of each school year.

In addition to political training, professional work is always of interest to the entire provincial Department of Education and Training, not only during the summer, but throughout each school year. Most recently (May 2025), the Department of Education and Training held a conference to guide the pilot implementation of digital transcripts for junior high school, high school, and continuing education for leaders and specialists of the Department of Education and Training's professional departments, representatives of district, town, and city Departments of Education and Training, and educational institutions in the province. Trainees were given the opportunity to grasp solutions to effectively implement the pilot implementation of digital transcripts.

It is expected that by the end of June 2025, the Department of Education and Training will issue a summer training plan, with key contents on digital transformation, digital competency framework, digital transformation criteria for educational institutions, basic digital skills, etc. Teachers will also be updated and supplemented with knowledge before the new school year, contributing to the effective implementation of fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training.

Thanks to the promotion of comprehensive educational tasks, professional training, and political training for teachers, the quality of education and training in the province in recent years, especially the implementation of the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress, has made remarkable progress and development. The results of the high school graduation exam and the national high school excellent student selection exam each year are always higher than the previous year: The high school graduation exam in 2024 ranked 25th out of 63 provinces and cities, the highest ever, up 11 places compared to 2023, up 25 places compared to the first year of implementing the Resolution; the national high school excellent student selection exam in 2025 won 88 prizes, up 3 prizes compared to 2024; continuing to maintain the 8th position in the top 10 provinces and cities with the highest number of excellent students in the country.
