Currently, the preparation work for organizing the Trade Promotion Delegation in Laos is being chaired by the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan, in coordination with relevant departments and units to implement according to plan. Taking place for 5 days from June 18 to 22 in the capital Vientiane, this activity is organized with the aim of promoting trade in the Lao market in 2024 and the following years. This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Binh Thuan - the southernmost coastal province of the Central region with many potentials and advantages of Vietnam. Thereby, enhancing cooperation and exchange to attract investment and promote trade and tourism as well as implementing development strategies, expanding consumption markets, increasing product value, promoting exports in the new situation...
It is expected that the trade promotion delegation in Laos will be led by a representative of the Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, and will also include leaders of relevant departments and the Provincial People's Committee Office. According to the program, the Binh Thuan delegation will work with the Embassy, the Vietnamese Trade Office in Laos, leaders of the Vientiane capital government, Lao enterprises and associations and Vietnamese enterprises in Laos. The delegation will also spend time surveying a number of commercial centers, supermarkets, and wholesale markets in Vientiane and neighboring areas to learn about market prices, demand, and consumer tastes of Lao people in order to find solutions to organize reasonable and effective exports.
In preparation for this activity, the Department of Industry and Trade promptly advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue an official dispatch to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos requesting coordination and support for the Binh Thuan Provincial Working Group to promote trade here. According to the assignment, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (under the Department of Industry and Trade) is the contact point. Up to now, the locality has connected with the Trade Promotion Department, the Department of Asia - Africa Market (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the Embassy of Vietnam, the Vietnam Trade Office and the Vietnam Business Association in Laos... Through the suggestion, the provincial functional department said that it agreed with the proposal of the Vietnam Trade Office to have a working session with the Trade Promotion Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade of Laos with many participants, including Lao enterprises, to provide more comprehensive information.
In relation to this activity, currently, documents (bilingual Vietnamese - English) promoting the local image to serve the Working Group are also being actively prepared, such as on investment promotion in Binh Thuan province, introducing an overview of Binh Thuan and trade promotion activities. Along with that are a number of publications: Binh Thuan Industry and Trade: Potential and investment opportunities; Typical rural industrial products of Binh Thuan province; Binh Thuan dragon fruit; Introducing typical agricultural, forestry and fishery products, safe food supply chain products, typical rural industrial products. In addition, there is a Brochure introducing industrial parks and clusters in Binh Thuan by investors in Ham Kiem I Industrial Park, Ham Kiem II Industrial Park, Tan Duc Industrial Park, Thang Hai 1 Industrial Cluster, etc.
Recently, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Van Dang chaired a meeting to listen to a report on the preparation of the program, content and necessary conditions of the Working Group participating in trade promotion in Laos. Because it is an opportunity to promote the image of Binh Thuan as well as to promote trade activities and attract investment in the neighboring country, the provincial leaders also noted the need for the participation of local businesses and associations to strengthen the connection between the two sides... Therefore, the mobilization and invitation of businesses to join the Working Group for trade promotion in Laos is being continued by the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Thuan, thereby contributing to the overall success of this activity.
