Quang Nam prepares carefully for the 10th grade entrance exam

According to the decision of the Provincial People's Committee, the Steering Committee for High School Admissions in Quang Nam province is headed by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan; the Deputy Heads and members are leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities.

The Steering Committee is responsible for comprehensively directing the preparation and implementation of high school enrollment activities for the 2025-2026 school year in the province, especially the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year in accordance with the regulations on junior high school and high school enrollment according to Circular No. 30 (dated December 30, 2024) of the Ministry of Education and Training.

According to Mr. Thai Viet Tuong - Director of the Department of Education and Training, the public 10th grade entrance exam is a new issue in Quang Nam after more than 10 years, so it is extremely difficult in the context of merging communes, wards, provinces, and ending district-level activities. Therefore, it requires the attention and direction of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, and district-level People's Committees.

This year, Quang Nam will only organize a single exam to enroll in non-specialized public grade 10, specialized high schools and provincial high schools for ethnic minorities, called "Public high school grade 10 entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year".

Notably, for the first time in many years, the admission to grade 10 of non-specialized public schools has changed from the previous years' admission method to a combination of entrance exams and admission based on the results of training and studying in 4 years of secondary school of students. For specialized high schools, the Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minority Students continues to take entrance exams as in previous years.

Regarding the exam subjects, for public high schools and provincial high schools for ethnic minority boarding students, the entrance exam will be in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, English; for Nguyen Binh Khiem and Le Thanh Tong specialized high schools, the entrance exam will be in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, English and the specialized subject. The exam schedule is on June 3, 4 and 5.

After listening to the opinions of the members at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan decided to assign tasks to the members of the Steering Committee and requested that all be responsible for performing well the assigned tasks according to their industry, field, and locality, ensuring compliance with the admission regulations.

"The 10th grade entrance exam was carefully prepared and widely consulted before the Provincial People's Committee decided to organize the exam. However, because this is a new issue with many challenges, we cannot be subjective and cannot make mistakes. This work is not only the responsibility of the Education and Training sector but requires all sectors and localities to participate," said Mr. Tuan.
