Quang Nam: Opening of the 8th Vietnam International Choir in 2025

On the evening of April 9, the opening ceremony of the 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition 2025 took place in Hoi An city. Attending the event were Mr. Johan Rooze - Artistic Director, Interkurtul Organization, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department Huynh Thi Thuy Dung .

The 8th Vietnam International Choir Competition, co-organized by the Interkultur Association - Federal Republic of Germany and the People's Committee of Hoi An City, took place from April 9 to 13. This year's competition brought together 29 choirs from 9 countries to compete in 11 subjects. At the opening ceremony, provincial leaders presented flowers to the Organizing Committee and the participating groups.

After the opening ceremony at Hoi An Theater, from April 10 to 12, at Hoi An Park, the competition took place with many categories such as: Mixed choir, youth choir, youth choir, middle-aged choir, hymn choir, religious choir, folk choir...

Within the framework of the event, there are also activities such as: International choir performance on the street with the theme "International Melody"; street art exchange between choirs with people and tourists on the streets; music - culinary exchange.

“Held every two years since 2011, the International Choir Competition has been held in Vietnam for 8 years, of which 7 times have been held in Hoi An. The competition is truly a space for choral art lovers to meet, an opportunity to exchange and discuss music, and at the same time enhance cultural understanding between nations, strengthen friendship, solidarity and international cooperation. This event also demonstrates Hoi An's commitment to promoting creativity in many fields when joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.”
