The fine arts and photography exhibition with the theme “ Quang Nam - 50 years of new colors and fragrances” will select 35 fine arts works and 40 artistic photography works to display and introduce to the public.

The exhibition includes works in the fields of fine arts and photography from January 1997 to April 2025.

The work focuses on depicting the historical, cultural, life, landscape and people values of Quang Nam; at the same time, it reflects the innovation, integration and development of the province over the past 50 years.

Particularly in the field of photography, according to Photographer Dang Ke Dong - Head of the Vietnam Photographer Association in Quang Nam province, the works selected for this exhibition are not necessarily of the best quality, but they show a new perspective on Quang Nam today.

There are a total of 40 works by 24 authors participating in the exhibition “Quang Nam - 50 years of new colors and fragrances”. Among them, there are 2 photo collections including: “ Tourism potential of Dong Thang Binh region” by artist Phan Vu Trong and “Highland class” by Pham Toan.

“Previously, the themes that authors exploited were mainly in localities with famous heritages such as Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary. However, at this exhibition, there has been an exploration and expansion of creative space to remote areas, islands, and borders. Many themes in the process of building and developing the homeland have been focused on by the authors.

Like Phan Vu Trong with the work "Under the lights" about the medical industry with creative shooting angles, light processing, and colors. Veteran photographer Le Van with his work about border areas and border guards. Especially member Nguyen Thanh Thiep, despite being 83 years old, is still diligently creating with the work "Skillful hands" about the process of making fine art statues in Phu Ninh" - said artist Dang Ke Dong.

Pham Toan is a new member of the Provincial Photography Association, admitted in 2024, participating in the exhibition with the photo series "Highland Classroom".

“When choosing the topic of education in the highlands, what I wanted to convey in the work is that my homeland Quang Nam is developing every day. In particular, education in remote mountainous areas is always cared for, the lives of teachers are improved day by day, there is clean water, solar power to schools. Thereby contributing to encouraging teachers to stick with students, helping them pursue their dreams of learning so that their future lives will be better” - Pham Toan shared.

Participating in the exhibition “Quang Nam - 50 years of new day colors and fragrances”, the fine arts field has 35 works with rich themes and diverse materials such as oil, silk, acrylic, wood carving, leather carving, reliefs, etc.

Painter Nguyen Dung - Head of the Quang Nam Fine Arts Association said that among the 35 works at the exhibition, many have special highlights - crystallizing the artistic depth and passion of the artist.

Typical examples include: “Sandstone Marks” - silk by Doan Minh Thuan; round statue “Tra My Echo” by Kieu Nhat San; “Near Streets, Far Fields” to “Good Land” by Tran Van Binh and Le Nguyen Chinh, “Heritage Soul” or “Forest Soul” by Nguyen Danh and Nguyen Thuong Hy.

Each work evokes memories and cultural layers of Quang Nam. It is not only the beauty of form, but also the depth of emotion, identity and homeland spirit in the flow of art over 50 years.

On this occasion, artist Nguyen Thuong Hy participated with the work “Forest Soul”, watercolor on silk. Hidden in his paintings are the unique festivals of the Co Tu people, precious natural resources with pơmu forests, rhododendrons, Ngoc Linh ginseng, saola species…

Painter Nguyen Thuong Hy shared: “I paint about the mountains and forests of Quang Nam with many valuable resources to make us love our homeland more. At the same time, it also reminds us of the responsibility to protect the forests and preserve indigenous cultural values in the current growing trend.”

“The exhibition “Quang Nam - 50 years of new colors and fragrances” is not simply an art exhibition, it is also a tribute to the land and people of the country. Each painting, each frame is a slice of memory, a voice of love for ordinary people: the mother carrying vegetables, the mason under the sun, the sail in the middle of the ocean, the temple roof after the flood, the old street in autumn... Simultaneous, colorful, rich in emotions - the exhibition is a meeting space between artists and the public, between art and life, between the present and history” - painter Nguyen Dung shared.
