Pepper price today in Dak Nong is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 146,500 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, pepper prices today in Ba Ria - Vung Tau are currently at 146,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday. Dong Nai is unchanged from yesterday at 146,000 VND/kg.

In addition, pepper price today in Binh Phuoc is unchanged compared to yesterday, currently at 146,000 VND/kg.

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in countries, the International Pepper Association (IPC) updated the pepper prices of all types traded in the international market on May 24 (local time) as follows:

Indonesia's Lampung black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,432/ton. Meanwhile, Muntok white pepper price also remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,134/ton.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at $6,650/mt.

Malaysia's ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150/ton. Meanwhile, the country's ASTA white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $11,850/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of 500 gr/l black pepper in Vietnam reached 6,700 USD/ton; 550 gr/l reached 6,800 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,700/ton.

The domestic pepper market is currently in a slump. Weak purchasing power and cautious sentiment among pepper growers have put increasing pressure on prices. Many farmers are no longer interested in continuing to invest, due to high production costs but not attractive enough selling prices. Some households have switched to growing other crops with higher economic value such as durian or avocado. Expanding pepper growing areas is also difficult because the cultivated land fund is increasingly narrowing.

Transactions in the market are generally quite low, from farmers to agents and exporters are temporarily suspending sales. Many people expect pepper prices to increase soon so they choose to hoard their goods and wait for a more favorable time to sell.

According to the latest report from Ptexim, pepper consumption demand has shown signs of improvement in Europe, Asia and the US. In particular, the Chinese market - one of the major customers - has begun to import goods again. However, experts warn that although pepper prices are decreasing slightly in the short term, they are still at a high level. This puts great pressure on both buyers and sellers because of concerns about financial risks when prices fluctuate abnormally.

Many import-export businesses are choosing to deliver small, fast shipments instead of placing large orders to limit risks. The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) said there have been no clear signs of recovery in the country, as consumption remains weak and traders are waiting for prices to rise before buying.
