At 8:30 a.m. on September 12, the flight carrying athlete Dinh Van Tam landed at Chu Lai Airport ( Da Nang City) in the welcome of leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, leaders of Son Mai commune, fans and relatives of Dinh Van Tam.
At the reception, representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism congratulated athlete Dinh Van Tam on his achievements at the World Wushu Championship, thereby bringing glory to Quang Ngai in particular and Vietnamese sports in general. The delegation also presented flowers and a bonus to athlete Dinh Van Tam.
Athlete Dinh Van Tam expressed his emotion at the affection that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and everyone had for him. This timely encouragement is a great motivation for Dinh Van Tam to continue competing successfully on the upcoming journey.
After being picked up at the airport, athlete Dinh Van Tam was taken back to his hometown in Son Mai commune by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism amid the joy and pride of his family, relatives and friends.
Martial artist Dinh Van Tam (19 years old), from Son Mai commune, is the only martial artist from Quang Ngai to be included in the Vietnam Wushu Team participating in this tournament. After 2 wins in the qualifying round, in the early morning of September 8 (Vietnam time), martial artist Dinh Van Tam entered the final match against martial artist Jiaming Ou (China). Despite his determination and effort, the martial artist from Quang Ngai only won a silver medal for the Vietnam Wushu Team.
