Quang Ngai: More than 5,200 houses flooded due to heavy rain, landslides threatened

QNgTV- More than 5,200 households in Quang Ngai are suffering from deep flooding after heavy rains that lasted since last night.

Local authorities have cordoned off flood-prone areas.

Many central and riverside areas have had water flooding into houses, causing difficulties in daily life and travel, threatening the safety of life and property.

Facing the risk of landslides and flash floods, the government has organized the evacuation of nearly 1,000 households with more than 3,600 people in the communes of Tay Tra, Son Tay, Ba Vinh, Ba Dong, Ngoc Linh, Son Ha... to a safe place. The flood caused one house to collapse completely and damaged 27 others.

Many areas of crops, aquaculture, irrigation works, canals, dams, water pipes, bridges and roads were also damaged. Landslides and flash floods occurred in Ngoc Linh, Tay Tra and Truong Giang communes, isolating hundreds of households.

Quang Ngai province has maintained rescue forces and equipment, and deployed inspection teams to direct damage recovery and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
