Rescue 6 people isolated by flood in Quang Tri

On the evening of October 29, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police force of Quang Tri Province Police successfully rescued 6 people who had been isolated for 2 days due to rising floodwaters in Hieu Giang Commune.

Previously, the Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 1 and Area 6 received a report that a group of people working in the Melaleuca forest in Hieu Giang Commune were trapped by floodwaters. Immediately after, 22 officers and soldiers along with canoes were mobilized to the scene, coordinating with the Hieu Giang Commune Police to search and approach the location of the victims.

The rugged terrain and fast-flowing water made the rescue operation difficult and potentially dangerous. After many hours of effort, by 7:50 p.m. the same day, the forces had brought all 6 people out of the flooded area safely.

The rescued people were exhausted and lacked food and water after two days of isolation in the Melaleuca forest. Their health is now stable.
