(QNgTV)- In the fourth quarter of 2025, Quang Ngai province will start construction of the new Tra Khuc 1 bridge with a total investment of nearly 2,200 billion VND. This 577 m long bridge not only improves traffic but also creates an architectural highlight, contributing to enhancing the urban landscape.

The Quang Ngai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said the Provincial People's Committee has approved the project to build a new Tra Khuc 1 bridge, 577 m long, at the existing location.

The project is focusing all resources to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2025. This is one of three projects selected to start construction to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and the election of deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

The project belongs to Group B, with a total investment of VND 2,199 billion from the Quang Ngai provincial budget, of which more than VND 1,836 billion is for construction items. The Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board was assigned as the investor. According to the design, the new bridge is more than 577 m long, including a main suspension bridge section 522 m long, 28 m wide, HL93 design load, steel structure - reinforced concrete - prestressed reinforced concrete.

The approach roads at both ends of the bridge meet main street standards, with a design speed of 60 km/h. The northern intersection is 28 m wide, the southern one is 28 - 44 m wide, with traffic organized by a roundabout, painted lines and a sign system. The Ton Duc Thang intersection will be built as a grade-separated intersection, with an 11.5 m wide underpass and a clearance of 3.5 m, helping to separate traffic flows and reduce traffic conflicts.

The design of Tra Khuc 1 Bridge (new) is inspired by the banks of the Tra River.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, the project to build a new Tra Khuc 1 bridge not only meets the needs of safe and smooth travel for people, but also contributes to completing a synchronous traffic network, improving the capacity to connect the northern gateway with the provincial administrative center. The project is also expected to become an architectural highlight by the river, contributing to beautifying the urban landscape.

The design was selected through a national architectural competition, inspired by the image of a waterfront, a cultural symbol associated with Quang Ngai.
