The Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Board) said that according to the plan on August 19, many major traffic projects will start construction and be inaugurated.
Among them, the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway project will officially start the bidding package for mine clearance and technical infrastructure relocation. This is the first step to deploy the expressway over 50km long, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Tay Ninh province, shortening travel time and "sharing the load" for National Highway 22.
Also on August 19, the Dinh intersection project (intersection of National Highway 1 with Nguyen Van Qua Street) will begin construction, although no groundbreaking ceremony will be held.
When completed, the project will relieve long-standing traffic congestion at the city's northwest gateway, through the old National Highway 1, District 12.
Also during this time, phase 1 of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway interchange connecting with Nhon Trach bridge (package XL1, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project) will be opened to traffic, coinciding with the opening ceremony of Nhon Trach bridge chaired by the Ministry of Construction .
This is an important project that helps shorten the distance from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai and the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau .
In September and October, Ho Chi Minh City plans to continue to start many other major projects such as the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, Ring Road 2 (section 1, section 2)..., creating more connectivity in traffic infrastructure and economic and social development of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring areas.
In addition, the investment project to renovate Thuy Van Street (in the old Ba Ria - Vung Tau) with a length of 3.2km and a capital of more than 1,000 billion VND has been included by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in the list of projects and works eligible for inauguration this time (August 19).
This project brings a new look to the local coastline, not only making it easier for vehicles to travel, but also boosting the economy and tourism.
At the same time, to celebrate this September 2nd occasion, Ho Chi Minh City is about to start the project to upgrade and expand DT748 road from the intersection of Phu Thu crossroads to the northern belt of My Phuoc town, along with the project to build an underpass at the intersection of Phuoc Kien five-way intersection (old Binh Duong).
Previously, Ho Chi Minh City started construction of Rach Tom Bridge; a series of new schools, dredging projects; infrastructure construction and environmental improvement of the northern bank of Doi Canal (old District 8), and a social housing project at 4 Phan Chu Trinh (old Binh Thanh District). In August, the city plans to inaugurate the Phu Tho Circus and Multi-Purpose Performance Hall.
