Quang Ninh sets second quarter growth target of 12.14%

Regarding the socio-economic development results in the province, in the first quarter of 2025, the economic growth rate (GRDP) of Quang Ninh province reached 10.91%, an increase of 0.4% compared to the set plan (10.5%), 2.12% higher than the same period in 2024 (8.79%), ranking 3rd in the Red River Delta, and 7th in the country.

The Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee informed about the outstanding results of the socio-economic development situation in the area.

Administrative reform, improvement of investment environment and support and removal of difficulties for enterprises were focused on. Cultural, social and human development had many progressive aspects; social security was given special attention. Quang Ninh continued to maintain its excellent ranking of 8/63 provinces and cities with the highest number and rate of excellent high school students in the country. National defense, security, order and social safety were ensured; foreign affairs activities were promoted, expanded and improved in quality and efficiency.

In the second quarter of 2025, it is forecasted that there will be many advantages, opportunities intertwined with difficulties and challenges. In order to fully complete the goals and targets for the whole year of 2025, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province sets a target of GRDP growth rate in the second quarter of 2025 to increase by 12.14%; state budget revenue to reach 14,912 billion VND. The target for the first 6 months of 2025 is that GRDP growth rate is expected to increase by 11.37%; state budget revenue to reach 27,907 billion VND.

Vice Chairman of Ha Long City People's Committee provided information about tourism stimulus events in the city.

Regarding tourism stimulation, in 2025, Quang Ninh province plans to organize 170 cultural, sports and tourism programs and events in the area, contributing to the completion of the province's annual GRDP growth target of 14%. In particular, a number of major events, held for the first time in Quang Ninh from April to September 2025, include: "Skywave Ha Long" art program; "Quang Ninh - Convergence of quintessence, reaching a new era of development" sculpture creation camp; Ha Long National Culinary Festival 2025; 20 activities of the Art For Climate Fesvital Ha Long 2025 Program (Art for Climate);... In which, the highlight is still the Ha Long Carnival 2025 program taking place on May 1 with the theme "Ha Long Carnival 2025 - Connecting Heritage, Pioneering Shining", with the participation of about 15,600 delegates and guests.

Also at the press conference, leaders of departments, branches and units informed about the situation and results of the implementation of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP; the streamlining of the apparatus; the implementation of regulations on extra teaching and learning in the province. At the same time, they clarified and answered some questions from journalists about issues related to forest fire prevention, traffic safety, conditions for organizing events in the province, management of tourist boats, etc. Quang Ninh province hopes that press agencies will continue to accompany and propagate, promptly reflect the development orientations and policies of the province, issues that people and public opinion are interested in on the mass media.
