Vietnam Tourism and Transport Marketing Joint Stock Company ( Vietravel , code VTR) has just announced its financial report for the first quarter of 2025 with net revenue reaching 1,294 billion VND, an increase of 8.16% over the same period last year.
However, the company's after-tax profit only reached VND5.9 billion, down more than 52%. The main reason was that the cost of goods sold increased by nearly 8%, selling expenses increased by nearly 30% and interest expenses increased sharply by 34.7%.
According to documents submitted to the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Vietravel set a target of net revenue this year of VND9,549 billion, an increase of 42% compared to 2024. However, pre-tax profit is only expected to reach VND50 billion, down 11%.
The company is accelerating digital transformation, with the goal of revenue from online platforms accounting for 12–15% of total revenue from retail customers (FIT) and international customers. At the same time, revenue from the international market is also expected to account for at least 10% of total revenue, double the current level.
Vietravel plans to change its name to simplify brand recognition.
A notable content in the Congress program is the proposal to change the company name. Vietravel plans to shorten the current name to "Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company" to simplify the brand and match the strategy of expanding operations internationally.
In addition, the company also plans to add three new business lines, focusing on investment consulting and supporting individuals who want to invest or settle abroad. Specific areas include:
Personal financial consulting for investment, settlement and international integration (except financial, accounting and legal consulting).
Consulting on capital transfer and opening international investment accounts in accordance with Vietnamese and international laws.
Consulting on investment profile preparation, settlement profile and related administrative services.
By the end of the first quarter of 2025, Vietravel is the largest domestic and international travel company in Vietnam, with a charter capital of more than VND 292 billion and total assets of VND 2,740 billion.
