Vietnam Sports Administration requests review to ensure successful organization of 2024-2025 National Professional Football season

In order to review and thoroughly implement the organization of the 2024-2025 National Professional Football season to take place successfully, especially the matches taking place in the next round of the tournament to ensure compliance with regulations, the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department has just issued Official Dispatch No. 447/TDTTVN-TTTC dated May 7, 2025 requesting the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company and related units to strictly implement the requirements according to regulations.

Accordingly, the Official Dispatch stated that the 2024-2025 Vietnam Professional Football season (National Championship, National First Division, National Cup) is taking place with high professional quality, with many attractive matches; the organization of the competition has made much progress, ensuring security, order and safety, thereby attracting the attention of audiences and fans.

Currently, professional football tournaments are entering the final rounds (for the National Football Championship, there are 05 rounds left; the National First Division Football Tournament has 06 rounds left, the National Cup Football Tournament is preparing for the semi-finals and finals), in which there will be a number of matches that will determine the achievements and rankings of the clubs.

The 2024-2025 National Professional Football Tournament is taking place with exciting rounds.

Therefore, the Vietnam Sports and Physical Training Department requested VFF to direct VPF to continue to seriously implement a number of issues such as: Actively coordinate with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security to forecast and take measures to prevent matches where there may be insecurity, disorder, and match-fixing that affects the performance of clubs; ensure the objectivity and honesty of the referee force when conducting matches.

Along with that, direct the Tournament Organizing Committee to coordinate with localities, functional agencies, the Organizing Committee of the stadiums, and members of the clubs to strictly implement the provisions of the Competition Law, the Professional Football Regulations and the Tournament Charter, have a civilized and appropriate attitude and behavior during the competition; especially, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection and supervision of facilities (grass fields) to meet professional requirements and have backup plans to ensure security, safety, and health at the competition stadiums.

Previously, regarding the announcement by the International Football Federation (FIFA) that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee had decided to remove Phu Tho Club from the 2025 Second Division and have them relegated to the Third Division next season due to allegations of match manipulation (match-fixing) in a number of matches within the tournament, the Department of Sports and Physical Training sent an official dispatch requesting the VFF to coordinate and send a report to the Vietnam Department of Sports and Physical Training before May 8, 2025.
