Quang Tri approves Phuc Thanh An Vinh Phuc 30 MW Wind Power project

Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee announced that it has approved the investment policy for the Phuc Thanh An Vinh Phuc Wind Power Plant project, with a capacity of 30 MW.

The project has the form of selecting investors through the form of inviting interest, bidding for projects using land. The project is located in the area of Huong Lap, Huong Phung, Khe Sanh communes, Quang Tri province.

The project has an expected capacity of 30 MW. The construction scale includes wind turbine towers, internal power transmission lines, operating houses, internal roads and other auxiliary works. The land use area of the project is expected to be about 10.5 hectares, or less than 0.35 hectares/MW; the land area temporarily used during the construction and installation of the plant is expected to be about 9 hectares or less than 0.3 hectares/MW.

The total investment of the project is 1,227.92 billion VND. The project will operate for 50 years from the date of the decision approving the investor. The project is expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2026 and be completed and put into operation in the first quarter of 2027.

In addition to approving the investment policy of Phuc Thanh An Vinh Phuc Wind Power Plant, Quang Tri province has recently called for investment in two other wind power projects. These are Tan Thanh Long Wind Power Plant Project, with a total investment of VND 1,809 billion in Khe Sanh and Lao Bao communes, with a power generation capacity of 48 MW, to be implemented from 2025 to 2029; Cam Lo Wind Power Plant Project with a total investment of VND 6,500 billion, to be implemented in Con Tien and Hieu Giang communes with a capacity of 200 MW, to be implemented from 2025 to 2028.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, these wind power plant construction projects aim to provide and supplement electricity sources, meeting the energy demand to achieve the socio -economic development goals in Quang Tri province in particular, as well as in Vietnam in general.

Along with that, the above wind power plant projects belong to the industry with special investment incentives, because they are implemented in areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions, so they will enjoy incentives of the Investment Law.
