In the new context, the Quang Tri Education sector is synchronously implementing tasks and solutions to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training, focusing on quality, efficiency and human resource development.

Strengthening the education system, improving quality

In recent years, the Quang Tri Education sector has focused on reviewing and rearranging the school network in a streamlined and practical manner. Up to now, the whole province has 929 educational institutions from preschool to high school, 16 vocational education and continuing education centers, 6 secondary schools, 6 colleges, 1 university, and 137 foreign language and information technology centers.

Reorganizing the school network appropriately helps improve management efficiency and expand people's access to education.

The total number of students in the province is over 428,900. The team of about 32,640 managers and teachers all meet professional standards, creating a solid foundation for implementing new educational programs.

Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, awarded the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to outstanding individuals.

The 2025-2026 school year opens an important period when the province begins to implement the Resolution of the 1st Party Congress (term 2025-2030), and at the same time deploy Resolution 71-NQ/TW on education development and the Law on Teachers.

The Congress Resolution sets out the goal of making a breakthrough in education and training development, improving the quality of human resources. Synchronously implementing the policy of developing education towards standardization, modernization and international integration.

At the same time as rearranging the school network, the Education Sector focuses on consulting and submitting to competent authorities to handle problems in current regulations to improve the effectiveness of work and education management in accordance with the operation of the two-level local government model.

Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province awarded the Emulation Flag of the Provincial People's Committee to 2 collectives with many outstanding achievements.

Along with that, the Education Department continues to advise the Provincial People's Committee to prioritize investment in infrastructure for educational institutions in disadvantaged, border and island areas; synchronously deploy solutions to improve the quality of preschool, general and continuing education; and promote the illiteracy eradication program across the province.

The overarching goal is to ensure equitable and sustainable access to basic education for all.

Strategic breakthroughs and key goals for the 2025-2030 period

In recent years, the comprehensive fundamental innovation of education and training has achieved many important results. The quality of education in the province has been continuously improved thanks to the innovation of teaching methods towards promoting the capacity of each student. The rate of good and excellent students, students passing university entrance exams and students winning prizes has increased steadily over the years.

Notably, in the 2024-2025 school year, Quang Tri achieved 115 national excellent student awards, an increase of 24 awards compared to the previous year; many students won regional and international awards. This achievement reflects the effectiveness of the work of discovering and nurturing excellent students and the dedication of the teaching staff.

Honoring advanced models in the education sector.

In the 2025 - 2030 term, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requires the Education sector to proactively promote achievements, seize opportunities and overcome challenges to strongly innovate education and training to meet the requirements of successfully implementing the goals set out in Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW.

With the motto "Solidarity - Creativity - Breakthrough - Development - Raising the level of Quang Tri education", the Party Committee of the Department of Education and Training identified 5 important breakthroughs: innovating institutions and educational management models; building a team of teachers and managers with sufficient qualities, capacity and prestige; accelerating digital transformation, applying IT in teaching and management; improving the quality of comprehensive education; creating a fair, safe and quality educational environment.

Reward students with excellent academic performance.

Along with the breakthroughs, the industry has set out 10 key targets, including strategic targets such as: The rate of public schools meeting national standards is over 80%; completing universal preschool education for children from 3 to 5 years old; completing compulsory education after junior high school; maintaining and improving the quality of universal education and eliminating illiteracy.

Strive for 100% of primary schools to teach 2 sessions/day; High school graduation rate to reach 98% or higher. The rate of students participating in national excellent student competitions to win prizes is over 60%; strive for students to win international excellent student prizes...

Teaching staff – the foundation for sustainable innovation

Identifying the teaching staff as the decisive factor in the quality of education, the Education Department has actively advised the Provincial People's Committee to devote many resources to training and fostering the expertise and skills of teachers and managers. Actively organizing activities such as competitions for excellent teachers, seminars on innovative teaching methods, creating an environment for professional exchange and encouraging creativity.

The industry continues to organize training courses to improve the training standards of preschool, primary and secondary school teachers, and promote regular training in IT, foreign languages and vocational skills.
