According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), many farmers are now switching to organic farming, focusing on producing clean and safe raw materials.
A typical example is in Dak Nong, where many farmers have pioneered the development of an organic pepper growing model. This model not only helps protect the environment but also improves product quality. This is an important strategy, helping Vietnamese pepper meet international standards, while aiming for a net-zero emission reduction target.
Dak Nong province aims to maintain an area of about 34,000 hectares of pepper by 2025, with an output of about 73,000 tons per crop. By 2030, the pepper area in this locality is expected to decrease slightly to 33,600 hectares, but the output will still be maintained at over 73,000 tons per crop.
Dak Nong is also developing four high-tech pepper production areas and forming concentrated production areas, with a total area of up to 3,049 hectares in key areas.
According to experts, the organic pepper growing model not only helps improve people's income but also contributes significantly to building and enhancing the brand value of Vietnamese pepper in the international market.
With the support of the government and businesses, organic pepper products from Vietnam promise to increase export value in the coming years.
