Ninh Chu National Tourist Area planning covers more than 12,000 hectares on land and sea

At the 22nd Session, the People's Council of Ninh Thuan province, term XI, 2021-2026, issued a Resolution approving the Master Plan for the construction of the Ninh Chu National Tourist Area (NTA), Ninh Thuan province until 2045. In terms of nature, Ninh Chu is a NTA, playing an important role in promoting socio -economic development, especially tourism (DL) for Ninh Thuan province in particular and the South Central Coast region in general.

Ninh Chu National Tourist Area has a total land area of about 10,200 hectares; developing areas for exploiting tourism activities and services at sea of about 2,000 hectares. This is the coastal space of Ninh Thuan province, including part of the boundary of Phan Rang - Thap Cham city, Thuan Bac, Ninh Hai, Ninh Phuoc, Thuan Nam districts. Specifically, the North borders Khanh Hoa province; the South borders Ca Na port; the East and Southeast borders the East Sea; the West and Northwest borders Nui Chua National Park, the coastal route, the surrounding area of development space along Nai Lagoon, and Mui Dinh mountain.

The forecasted scale of tourists by 2035 is about 5.9 million visitors (international visitors about 743,000); by 2045 it is about 9.84 million visitors (international visitors about 1.509 million). The population by 2035 is about 193,300 people (of which the forecasted population according to the population growth rate is about 125,600 people, the population converted from tourists is about 67,700 people); by 2045 it is about 300,000 people (of which the forecasted population according to the population growth rate is about 166,800 people, the population converted from tourists is about 133,200 people).

The development structure of Ninh Chu National Tourism Area is determined based on the pillars of tourism, economy, energy, natural landscape and culture - society to form the development characteristics, with 3 large sub-regions, including: The Northern area develops high-class eco-tourism associated with the conservation of ecological values, natural landscapes "sea - forest - agriculture ". The central area is the tourism service center, the "heritage - resort - cuisine" coastal tourism urban area. The Southern area develops "energy" with the combination of new and adventurous sports, with unique resort and discovery tourism "sand - salt - sea". In addition, there are strengths and applications of renewable energy.

At the same time, it is divided into 8 key functional sub-zones including: (1) Binh Tien - Bai Thung area; (2) Vinh Hy - Nui Chua area; (3) Nam Nui Chua - Hang Rai - Stone park area; (4) Thanh Hai - kite surfing area; (5) Dam Nai - Ninh Chu area; (6) sub-zone 3 - Son Hai; (7) Mui Dinh area and (8) Mui Dinh - Ca Na coastal road area.

The project also outlines a development strategy for Ninh Chu National Tourist Area in each phase, including: Strategy 1 is to become a sustainable, distinctive, and classy national tourist area by 2035. Strategy 2 is to develop an inclusive marine economy, aiming to link specific local economic sectors. Strategy 3 is to solve environmental and social issues in a sustainable and resource-attracting direction.

The general planning for the construction of Ninh Chu National Tourist Area will be divided into 2 implementation phases. Phase 1 from 2024-2035, organize the establishment and approval of general planning for urban areas, zoning plans, detailed plans; invest in the construction of technical infrastructure works, tourism services in functional areas with characteristic spaces to attract tourists, build tourism brands, create momentum for synchronous development of the entire area; focus on developing tourism projects; renovate existing areas.

Phase 2 from 2035 to 2045, continue to promote and develop coastal tourism in Ninh Thuan from North to South. Develop and expand Vinh Hy urban area to the Northwest around Vinh Hy lake, further develop the demand for residential land and tourism land. Vinh Hy urban area aims to meet the criteria of a town after 2045. Expand Thanh Hai urban area, develop ecological tourism areas along Dam Nai, develop and expand Son Hai urban area, aiming to meet the criteria to become Son Hai town after 2045...
