The Group's first quarter profit increased sharply
"Our five-year journey of building a consumer-retail platform is complete. Masan Consumer, WinCommerce and Masan MEATLife together achieved double-digit profit growth in the first quarter of 2025. This is the clearest evidence of an integrated and synergistic ecosystem that works together to promote strength. "Digital transformation" is the strategic piece to unlock the full potential of this ecosystem, helping us accelerate and enter a profitable growth trajectory" - Dr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of Masan Group shared.
Masan Consumer products
Masan expects the direct impact of US tariffs to be negligible on the company’s operations. The US market contributes less than 1% of Masan Consumer’s (MCH) revenue, while Masan High-Tech Materials’ (MHT) core products are not currently subject to tariffs. Masan is closely monitoring developments and proactively implementing a flexible pricing strategy that closely follows the actual situation and appropriately structures its product portfolio to minimize any impact on consumer sentiment.
In a scenario of higher tariffs, while exports and FDI may be under pressure, domestic stimulus measures will play a supportive role. Core sectors such as consumer staples and food retail serving daily needs are expected to remain resilient. In addition, out-of-home consumption may be under pressure as consumers prioritize home meals and cut back on non-essential spending. In this context, profitable retailers with strong cash flows and focusing on essential needs such as WCM have an advantage in capturing market share. The application of technology and a focused commerce strategy will help leverage scale to add value to consumers while improving competitiveness. In addition, input prices such as wheat, coffee and palm oil are falling, reducing cost pressures and creating room for MCH to reinvest to expand market share.
Double-digit growth in core businesses
For the consumer goods business segment, MCH recorded revenue in the first quarter of 2025 of VND 7,489 billion, up 13.8% over the same period. Positive results came from growth across product lines: spices (up 15.9%), beverages (up 8.7%), coffee (up 39.8%), personal and family care products (up 13%) and international revenue increased 73.2% over the same period. China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia continue to be the main markets contributing to MCH's international revenue. Currently, the US market accounts for less than 1% of Masan Consumer's revenue.

For the retail segment, WCM recorded NPAT Pre-MI of VND 58 billion in Q1/2025, an increase of VND 132 billion compared to Q1/2024. This is the third consecutive quarter that WCM has made a profit, while accelerating the expansion of its store network according to the 5-year roadmap.
WCM's revenue growth comes from a strong increase in customer traffic, demonstrating consumer appeal and room for network expansion. Rural areas - which account for more than 60% of Vietnam's population - will be a potential market in the future. Accordingly, the average daily revenue of the Rural WinMart+ model reached 94% compared to the Urban WinMart+ model (up from 87% in the same period in 2024).
For the business segment of Masan MEATLife (MML), revenue was recorded at VND 2,070 billion in Q1/2025, up 20.4%; NPAT Pre-MI reached VND 116 billion in Q1/2025, up VND 163 billion over the same period and was the third consecutive quarter with positive profit.

In implementing its strategic priorities, Masan expects consolidated net revenue in 2025 to be between VND80,000 billion and VND85,500 billion, corresponding to LFL growth of 7% to 14% year-on-year (after adjusting for the HCS merger). In the remaining quarters, Masan will continue to focus on its core businesses, developing and applying cross-cutting technology to drive operational efficiency, and enhancing synergies in Masan's consumer-retail platform.
