Resolutely implement the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods

Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee delivered a speech directing the meeting.

Attending the conference were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of a number of departments, branches and units.

At the conference, delegates listened to the representative of the Department of Health report on the fight against the production and trade of fake drugs, fake milk, and fake health protection foods. Accordingly, implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 41/CD-TTg on handling the case of production and trade of fake drugs and health protection foods; and the directives of central ministries and branches, in the past time, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Health of Thai Binh province have deployed inspection teams to inspect compliance with the provisions of law in drug trading activities at 35 medical facilities and health protection food trading establishments; organized 133 rounds of drug quality inspection and supervision at drug trading establishments. Through inspection, from the beginning of 2025 to present, no fake drugs or fake milk products have been detected in the province; discovered 1 sample of health protection food that did not meet quality standards, discovered a number of establishments selling medicine, milk, and health protection food that violated administrative regulations. The provincial health sector has imposed a fine of over 720 million VND, revoked the license of 1 establishment, and suspended the operations of 6 establishments.

According to reports from functional sectors, from the beginning of 2025 to present, the Provincial Steering Committee against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods (Steering Committee 389/Provincial DP) has detected and arrested 671 cases with 756 subjects violating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods; of which, 163 cases with 228 subjects were criminally prosecuted; administratively sanctioned over 500 cases with 528 subjects; collected over 12.6 billion VND for the state budget.

Also at the conference, the Department of Industry and Trade reported on the draft Decision to establish a Working Group to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in Thai Binh province.

Delegates discussed the advantages and disadvantages, and on that basis proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of the fight against the production and trade of fake drugs, fake milk, fake health food; against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the province.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: In the past time, the province has resolutely directed solutions in the work of preventing and combating the production and trading of fake drugs, fake milk, fake health protection foods and fighting smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. However, in the province, there are still many potential and complicated risks of smuggling, fake goods, counterfeit goods and the production and trading of fake drugs, fake milk, fake health protection foods. Therefore, to strictly implement the Prime Minister 's Official Dispatch No. 41/CD-TTg, he requested the drastic and proactive participation of heads of departments, branches and localities. The Department of Industry and Trade urgently advised on completing procedures, promptly submitting to the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Decision to establish a Working Group against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in Thai Binh province; In which, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee is the Head of the Working Group and assigns specific tasks to members, thereby promptly implementing them. The province urgently established 3 inspection teams on anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, in which leaders and officers of some functional sectors were mobilized to join these inspection teams. Districts and cities must also establish inspection teams to ensure coverage of the entire province in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Every week, sectors and localities report the results of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods to the Working Group. The comrade emphasized that it is necessary to strictly handle cases of smuggling, trade fraud and production and trading of counterfeit goods, on the principle of no cover-up, no forbidden areas, no exceptions.

In addition, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the competent authorities to widely publicize the hotline number to promptly receive information and feedback from all walks of life on the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Agencies and units in the ideological service strengthen the dissemination of the content, solutions and handling of violations in smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Heads of departments, branches, districts and cities resolutely direct and consider the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods as an important political task, thereby resolutely leading, directing and strengthening solutions to promote the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, but at the same time must ensure stable production and business activities of people and enterprises.
