A new composition marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States, “Never Before” offers a fresh, youth-focused perspective on a diplomatic milestone that shaped the course of both countries.

“Never Before” recreates important milestones in Vietnam-US relations, while emphasizing the younger generation as the most vivid proof of today’s partnership.

Through Suboi’s signature rap voice and contemporary visual style, the MV conveys a message to young people, honoring imagination, aspiration and global vision, while framing the celebration as a journey continued by the creativity and ambition of young people themselves.

By charting the past three decades, the MV represents the progress the two countries have made and the shared promise for the future, serving as both a tribute to the enduring partnership and an invitation to continue building on the next stage through innovation, connection and cultural exchange.

Knapper. “Suboi’s contribution helps tell the story of our partnership in a contemporary form, affirming the important role young people play in shaping our shared future.”

The artistic direction of “Never Before” combines modern rap beats with touches of traditional Vietnamese instruments, creating a style that is both contemporary and imbued with identity. This approach brings warmth to a subject that is often presented in a formal manner, allowing the energy of hip-hop to blend with the elegance and pride of Vietnamese culture.
