Launch of 8.2 meter long ink painting to celebrate 50 years of national reunification

NDO - Two Chinese artists Trinh Chieu Thanh and Dao Kim Loan have just completed an 8.2m long painting titled “Breakthrough works in 50 years of development of Ho Chi Minh City” using ink painting material. This is also the first time that Chinese ink painting artists in Ho Chi Minh City have created a work with this theme.

Accordingly, since the beginning of 2025, the two artists have spent 5 months completing the work, which is presented in the form of typical slices of breakthrough projects of Ho Chi Minh City, including 5 projects: Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe Canal, Saigon River Tunnel, Thu Duc City, Metro Line 1...

This is a meaningful spiritual product of the talented artist couple in particular and of the Literature and Arts Association of Ethnic Minorities in the city in general, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The watercolor painting opens with a propaganda poster celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, connecting the scenes with images of trees, traffic, high-rise buildings, etc. In the sky, a flock of white doves spread their wings and soar, symbolizing the aspiration and love for peace of the people of Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam.

The work “Breakthrough works in 50 years of development of Ho Chi Minh City” is not considered a masterpiece, but it fully expresses the hearts and good wishes of the two artists Trinh Chieu Thanh and Dao Kim Loan sent to the great festival of the country.

Painter Trinh Chieu Thanh, 51 years old, won the B Prize for the work "Prosperity" of the Ho Chi Minh City Literature and Arts Award for Ethnic Minorities (Theme of the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification).

Painter Dao Kim Loan, 51 years old, won the Encouragement Prize for the work "Sharing" and the Award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".

The two artists have had joint works: The ink painting “Hai Quoc An Lam”, auctioned for 50 million VND, the fund raised for the restoration of Ha Chuong Assembly Hall, Cho Lon; The ink painting “Quan Am Ban Phuoc”, auctioned for 68.8 million VND, the fund donated to Viet Hoa Quang Chanh Private School, helping disadvantaged students continue to go to school.

The work “Breakthrough works in 50 years of development of the city” is on display at Bach Nghi Ink Gallery, No. 19A, Street No. 4, Binh Tri Dong Ward, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City. Two Chinese artists Trinh Chieu Thanh and Dao Kim Loan intend to auction the painting for charity.
