Honoring outstanding intellectuals and scientists for the 9th time, 2025

HNN.VN - On the evening of May 16, the City Union of Science and Technology Associations (Union) held the 9th ceremony to honor outstanding science and technology intellectuals in 2025. Attending the ceremony were members of the City Party Committee: Mr. Hoang Khanh Hung, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Chairwoman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Dr. Hoang Tan Quang, one of the typical scientific and technological intellectuals honored

2025 is the 9th year of the honoring activity. This year, the Association received 26 profiles of scientists introduced by the units. The Council has selected and proposed to recognize and honor 15 outstanding intellectuals and scientists for the 9th time, 2025.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, member of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee affirmed that the intellectual team is always an important force creating the foundation and driving force to promote the process of realizing the goal of turning Hue into a centrally-governed city.

The Standing Vice President highly appreciated and acknowledged the efforts of the Association in successfully organizing the ceremony to honor outstanding scientists and technologists over the past 9 years. In particular, Hue city is also one of the few localities to honor foreign scientists. This is a remarkable feature, demonstrating openness, integration and gratitude for the valuable contributions of international scientists to the development of Hue city.

Prof. Dr. Satoh Shigeru (Japanese) is a typical foreign scientist honored.

To build Hue city worthy of being a centrally-run city, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh requested all levels and sectors to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and effectively implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo , Resolution No. 07 of the Provincial Party Committee (now the City Party Committee) on building Hue city into a major center of the country in science and technology by 2025 and vision to 2030; promote the building of a team of intellectuals and high-quality workers based on the basic factors of intelligence, physical strength, professional skills, ethics, suitable to the requirements of digital transformation, green transformation and international integration; research and propose to perfect mechanisms and policies, discover, foster, reward and make good use of talents in all fields and economic sectors.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that the intellectuals and the exemplary intellectuals who have been honored will continue to develop, deepen, constantly innovate, and contribute with their passion and intelligence to accompany the city in building and developing the economy and society.

Honoring 15 outstanding science and technology intellectuals for the 9th time, 2025

Through 9 times of organization, the Association has honored 133 outstanding intellectuals, including: 25 professors, 46 associate professors, 29 doctors, 15 masters and 18 individuals who are prestigious and high-quality scientists and experts. Notably, there are 11 professors and 2 foreign experts. Hue City is the only unit in the country to honor foreign scientists.
