Launching the second "Green Sunday" in 2025

Youth Union of Cam Khe district propagates and guides people to classify waste.

At the program, the Youth Union members of Cam Khe district organized environmental sanitation, village roads, and alleys; collected waste; planted and cared for trees, distributed leaflets, and instructed people on waste classification... The result was 1.5 tons of waste collected; 3km of rural roads were cleaned.

Also on May 25, 100% of the Youth Unions in the province simultaneously launched "Green Sunday" with many specific and practical activities such as: Peeling, removing, and cleaning up illegal classified ads; collecting, classifying, and processing plastic waste; cleaning the environment; arranging village roads and alleys; clearing bushes; planting trees, taking care of youth tree rows, youth flower gardens; raising awareness among young people, teenagers, and people about the harmful effects of plastic waste, the importance of environmental protection, and limiting the use of plastic bags and disposable plastic products... Attracting 1,530 young people to participate.

As a result, the province has implemented 55 projects and tasks to participate in building infrastructure, protecting the rural environment; taking care of youth trees, planting 4,870 new trees; cleaning up streets, offices, schools, and martyrs' cemeteries in the locality. Implementing 5 new models of plastic waste classification, 4 models of waste classification at source; propagating and guiding people to classify waste; collecting waste along canals in the fields.

In the face of complicated storms and floods, the Youth Union in the whole province coordinated and supported the functional forces on duty at high-risk areas for landslides and flash floods; actively propagated and placed 10 warning signs to prevent drowning at areas with ponds, lakes, and river banks at risk of drowning in the area.

“Green Sunday” is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism of young people; raising awareness for youth union members and children to actively and voluntarily participate in activities to protect and preserve the green - clean - beautiful environment.
