Go to the fields… and drink coffee.

The Nha Que coffee shop (Ta Danh commune, Tri Ton district, An Giang province) has been open for six months and attracts about 200 customers from near and far every day. The first thing that customers find special is the transportation provided by motorized rickshaw from Provincial Road 941 to the shop (about 300m).

Every decoration in the cafe evokes memories of decades past in the Southern Vietnamese countryside. This model has been adopted by many cafes, but it still brings a certain feeling to visitors, especially those born in the 1980s and earlier.

The rental costumes enhance the experience of immersing guests in the rural atmosphere, ranging from traditional ao dai and headscarves, ao ba ba dresses, princess gowns, to classic Western attire; available for both children and young men and women.

“I saw a cafe in the middle of a rice field on social media, so I invited everyone to come and visit. It's really cool and incredibly relaxing. My family has always been farmers, but I never thought that one day the rice fields would become a cafe like this!” – Ms. Mai (from Chau Thanh district, An Giang province) expressed.

The design, a blend of modern and traditional, urban and rural elements, makes the cafe's space unique and captivating. Additionally, numerous elevated "check-in" spots allow visitors to enjoy stunning views of the rice paddies and take memorable photos.

Of course, besides the comforting, cool breeze of the fields, there's also the intense sunlight characteristic of "plowing the fields at midday." But that doesn't matter; tourists still brave the sun to experience coffee plantations.

There, the drink is only a small part of the "coffee-drinking" experience. What they focus on is the lush green countryside around them, gazing at the rice grains "in their milky stage," instead of the cramped, air-conditioned cafes of the city.

It all stemmed from an idea by the family of Ms. Tran Thi Gia Hanh (born in 1989). After nurturing it for a year, they built it little by little, using the labor of each family member and minimizing the hiring of outside workers. They wanted to bring a model unprecedented in the locality, yet extremely attractive to their hometown – which had only known rice production season after season.

In Tri Ton town (Tri Ton district), the Ruong coffee shop is also quite special, thanks to its airy, youthful decor that blends seamlessly with nature.

Many young people leave their signatures on the cafe's walls. These include personal information for everyone to get acquainted, comments about the cafe, and thoughts they want to share in this unfamiliar place. Most of these are well wishes and messages for those who come after them.

The business model of selling coffee in rice paddies, maximizing the unique natural scenery of the Bay Nui region, will likely become more popular in the near future. Through their aesthetic sense and creativity, business owners bridge the gap between the mountainous rice paddies and customers, reinventing familiar elements to promote the image of their homeland.
