After a long time dominating the market with traditional lighting products (FL, CFL, IL), in January 2012, Rang Dong Light Bulb and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company officially launched LED products and was immediately welcomed by the market. LED output has increased rapidly over the years, both sold in the domestic market and exported. In 2017, the Company exported more than 98 billion LED & Electronic products to markets such as China, Cuba, Korea, the Middle East, Sri Lanka, the US... To produce high-quality LED lights, Rang Dong invested in a very systematic LED production research. Rang Dong is the only lighting company in Vietnam that has invested in ANSYS ICE PAK thermal management design software for LED production. This is a very famous American software that specializes in thermal simulation design of complex products such as cars and airplanes. Rang Dong also invests in the product reliability assessment system of G7 countries, invests in LED assessment equipment according to LM80 standards, invests in EMC electromagnetic compatibility assessment testing equipment, fast life assessment testing equipment from the US,... invests in modern, fully automatic production lines with high precision to help improve the reliability and quality of LED products. Rang Dong Light Bulb and Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company (formerly Rang Dong Light Bulb and Vacuum Flask Factory) is a pioneer in the lighting industry in Vietnam after more than 60 years of construction and development.

In 1958, Rang Dong Light Bulb and Thermos Flask Factory officially started construction in Hanoi. Three years later, on February 24, 1961, the Factory officially came into operation, becoming the first facility not only in Vietnam but also in Indochina to produce light bulbs and thermos flasks. Rang Dong is currently the only lighting enterprise in Vietnam to invest in ANSYS ICE PAK thermal management design software in LED production. Rang Dong LED products use Samsung LED chips that meet photobiological safety standards, ensuring the ratio of blue light to help create a friendly lighting environment and safe for eyesight. Rang Dong products are researched and designed in Vietnam, with Vietnamese people owning the technology. Dr. Nguyen Quan, former Minister of Science and Technology , Chairman of the Vietnam Automation Association, said: Rang Dong has established 4 science and technology centers. Rang Dong once spent up to 20% of its after-tax profits on investing in science and technology development and technological innovation. This is a rare thing that not every business can do. Rang Dong has invited many scientists from institutes, universities, and major science and technology centers in the country to cooperate with Rang Dong. Thousands of technical innovation initiatives and thousands of scientific research results have been presented at innovation festivals as well as scientific conferences. The Company also owns the technology for producing environmentally friendly electric thermos glass. The most modern thermos production line in Vietnam with a production capacity of 18.5 million products/year, serving both domestic consumption and export to countries such as Japan, China, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan... The factors that help the Company succeed are prioritizing the production of green, environmentally friendly products and promoting digital transformation. Mr. Nguyen Doan Thang, General Director of Rang Dong Light Bulb and Thermos Joint Stock Company, said: Implementing the Government's digital transformation program, we have been digitally transforming the Company since 2020. We have synchronized each extension and in a few years we will synchronize the whole thing. We have transformed from a traditional industrial factory producing light bulbs and thermoses into an industrial electronics factory on modern production lines. This is a fundamental change. In particular, we apply artificial intelligence to production. Currently, Rang Dong is one of the enterprises with fast and sustainable growth. At the time of equitization in 2004, the Company achieved a revenue of nearly 400 billion VND. After 20 years, in 2023, despite difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Rang Dong still achieved an impressive revenue of more than 8,300 billion VND, an increase of more than 20 times compared to 2004./.
