According to Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City Tran Thi Hoang Mai, the merger of Hai Phong and Hai Duong is a major event with historical significance, opening up a spacious space to bring Hai Phong City into a new era, an era of national growth.
At the same time, the event also marked the results of the strong leadership and direction, and the consensus of the people of the two localities in implementing the major policies of the Party and State on the reorganization of the apparatus and administrative units. Therefore, the series of cultural, sports and tourism activities were organized with many events, over many days, considered as a great festival for the whole people.
Accordingly, the highlight is the live television program of the art night “Radiant Hai Phong” taking place simultaneously from 8:00 p.m. on June 30 at the Opera House Square (Hai Phong) and Bach Dang Park (Hai Duong). The program with many special performances is expected to bring the audience to proud, profound and new emotions about the value of each land, open belief in the future of unification, contributing to creating motivation to build and develop a new, radiant Hai Phong city.
That is the image that reminds us of the glorious An Bien site of the past, the premise for building a brave and determined Hai Phong, a major economic and social center of the country, a heroic city in the renovation process. It is an Eastern land - rich in products, with a long history and cultural sediments, a steadfast revolutionary tradition that creates a strong, youthful momentum of the key economic land of the North. The program has the participation of many artists and actors from Hai Phong and Hai Duong.
Taking on the main role at the Hai Duong bridge in the special television program "Rang ro Hai Phong" is the Hai Phong Contemporary Arts Theater. According to People's Artist Khanh Hoa, Director of the Theater, at this time, all the artists of the Theater are urgently practicing and staging elaborate performances, delicately combining the identity of the Port and the East, blending tradition and modernity. Each dance step, melody, and stage movement are carefully polished with the highest spirit of creativity and dedication. "We are aware that the program at the Hai Duong bridge is not only a performance event, but also an artistic symbol of cultural exchange, solidarity, and emotional connection between the land and people of Hai Phong and Hai Duong, thereby spreading faith and aspiration for an open future..." - People's Artist Khanh Hoa shared.
Regarding the historic event of the unification of Hai Phong - Hai Duong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong Tran Thi Hoang Mai added that following the "Radiant Hai Phong" television bridge, there will be many other celebratory activities held throughout the new Hai Phong city. Specifically, there will be special cultural and artistic activities, such as: "Lighting up the City Theater" with the puppet show "Flock of Swans"; mobile film screenings for children, people in the suburbs and island districts; Heritage education program "Pottery making experience" at Hai Phong Museum; awarding the Photo Contest with the theme "Beautiful photos of families" and opening the Exhibition, propaganda cluster about families in 2025; Art program at the Ceremony to receive the certificate of special national relic, certificate of intangible cultural heritage and inauguration of the Temple of the Mac Dynasty Kings, opening the 3rd Mac hometown fair in 2025...
Promotional activities and tourism stimulus programs have also been implemented, such as: organizing cooperation content to upgrade Hai Phong food tour between Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Grab Vietnam; conference on cooperation and promotion of development links between Hai Phong tourism service industry and aviation industry; opening of VinWonders Vu Yen; launching of the night tour "Dau Thien Hang Kenh"; ceremony to announce the city's decision to recognize Viet Hai community tourism destination... Other attractive sports tournaments include: Pickleball tournament of clubs across the city... And in the first week of operating the new Hai Phong city, from July 1 to 7, art performances will take place, in parallel with the Exhibition of socio-economic development achievements in the central strip of Hai Phong city and the cultural center of Dong...
Also on this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong also organized the online contest "Connecting wishes - Hai Phong and Hai Duong", with the desire to contribute to creating momentum towards the bright future of the new Hai Phong City.
