Featuring parkas, polos, joggers and more inspired by classic tennis apparel designs from the 70s and 80s.
Following the successful launch of their collaboration last August (and amid the demands of Tenniscore's impressive press tour à la Zendaya's Challengers), Roger Federer and JW Anderson have reunited with UNIQLO for another ready-to-wear collection inspired by classic tennis apparel designs from the '70s and '80s.
“This collection takes design inspiration from previous eras of tennis, combined with UNIQLO’s signature functional fabrics,” said Anderson. “I believe we have created pieces that not only reflect the spirit of sport , but also serve as versatile everyday wear that everyone can love.”
This time around, the collection is headlined by a lightweight, boxy parka with colour-blocking on the raglan sleeves. The line also includes nylon joggers, with a casual silhouette reminiscent of track pants from tennis days gone by, and the AIRism polo shirt, finished with Anderson’s signature striped fringe motif. Elsewhere, a growing number of polos and shorts are made from UNIQLO’s DRY-EX fabric, reflecting Federer’s penchant for wearable styles.
Federer, UNIQLO global brand ambassador, added: “It’s a pleasure to work with Jonathan again, combining his unique vision with UNIQLO’s expertise in creating products that are stylish and functional. I hope people enjoy wearing these items, whether on the tennis court, when participating in other sports or in more casual settings.”
