Among the mountain peaks with brilliant Rhododendron flowers, many people mention Putaleng peak in Lai Chau province. This place is considered the capital of Hoang Lien Son Rhododendron in the Northwest region. Putaleng peak concentrates a large density of trees with ancient Rhododendron individuals creating a crowded population.

Also in Lai Chau province, a 2,619 meter high mountain peak was recently surveyed by a tourism unit and proposed to the province to name it Do Quyen peak to develop local tourism associated with this typical flower. This is a place with many old Do Quyen trees that bring special scenery.

The name Do Quyen peak has also been called by the people of Si Thau Chai village for a long time, so it has been used as a designation associated with the mountain Rhododendron species.
