On the afternoon of August 16, the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) met with the press to inform about activities in the "ASEAN Colors" Cultural Friendship Festival.
Speaking at the press conference, Permanent Vice President of HAUFO Tran Thi Phuong said that the "ASEAN Colors" Cultural Friendship Festival takes place on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of ASEAN's founding, the 79th anniversary of National Day (September 2), the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, and the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized by UNESCO as a "City for Peace ". HAUFO coordinated with the Embassy of Laos (the rotating ASEAN Chair in 2024) and embassies of ASEAN member countries in Vietnam to organize the Festival from August 29 to September 1, at Doan Mon Square, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi.

Lasting 4 days, the festival includes many activities to promote international cultural exchange to strengthen friendship between the people of the capital and the people of ASEAN member countries in particular and international friends in general. The program also aims to promote the image, country, people, and cultural identity of ASEAN member countries through cultural and artistic exchanges and photo exhibitions...
This is also an opportunity for countries and businesses in the ASEAN bloc to introduce handicrafts and traditional products.
The "ASEAN Colors" Cultural Friendship Festival experience space will include: 57 creative booths of Vietnam and ASEAN, souvenirs for young people and families (children drawing, coloring, building legos, making figurines, papier-mâché masks, bamboo dragonflies, making kites, etc.), traditional products of various countries on consumption and fashion ; 70 booths of Vi Pho; 79 booths of Huong Lang...
In addition, within the framework of the festival, there are other activities such as: Photo exhibition "Colors of ASEAN culture"; amateur art exchange of embassy staff and foreign students; performance of costumes of ASEAN countries; performance of contemporary musical Pinocchio 2024; Children's music and dance festival and children's fashion colors; organizing a drawing contest "I love Hanoi, the city for peace" for international and Vietnamese children.
Deputy Ambassador of the Lao PDR to Vietnam Latana Siharaj said that during the year of assuming the role of rotating ASEAN Chair, the Lao Ambassador to Vietnam has coordinated to organize many meaningful activities to promote solidarity and friendship within ASEAN. Together with HAUFO to organize the Cultural Friendship Festival "ASEAN Colors", Deputy Ambassador Latana Siharaj believes that the event will be a great success.
