Nearly 50 embassies and international organizations registered to attend the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi.

On the afternoon of September 26, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold a press conference to provide information about the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi.

Attending the press conference were Ambassadors, representatives of embassies, international organizations, foreign cultural centers in Vietnam, leaders of units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi People's Committee and Ministry of Foreign Affairs , along with reporters and representatives of domestic and foreign news agencies and newspapers.

Speaking at the press conference, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said that the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is an important initiative to honor and promote the pivotal role of culture in sustainable development, a bridge connecting countries and peoples to overcome all difficulties and challenges of the times such as conflicts, epidemics, climate change, etc., joining hands to bring the international community to peace and prosperity.

This is a place where the diverse, rich and proud colors of countries around the world, cultural regions of countries across five continents converge, to show off their colors together, intertwining and blending; to create a color called peace, a color called People, a color called friendship, as a message sent to the peoples of the world.

According to Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh, the Festival can be considered an unprecedented initiative in Vietnam, where the identity of each nation and ethnic group is not only fully preserved but also contributes to enriching the multicultural picture, while affirming the spirit of solidarity and friendship among nations.

“This initiative is fortunate to have the active participation of foreign representative agencies, so we are taking the final steps so that on the evening of October 3, we can all join in the jubilant and meaningful opening ceremony…”, said Mr. Le Hai Binh.

At the press conference, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Phuong Hoa said that the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is the largest and most diverse festival ever. As of September 25, 48 embassies, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers in Vietnam have registered to participate in the program.

Specifically, the festival includes 45 national cultural spaces, 33 food stalls, 16 international art troupes from within and outside the country, 12 units participating in book introductions, 20 countries sending films to participate in the film screening program...

The opening ceremony will be held on October 3 and the closing ceremony will take place on October 5. The event will be held at the Central Relic Site of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, promising to bring together cultures from 5 continents around the world to introduce the cultural quintessence of their people.

Events within the framework of the program include: Hanoi World Culture Festival, Hanoi international culinary program, film screening program, Hanoi international folk dance program, Hanoi international fine arts program, Hanoi international costume program, Ao Dai Festival, Hanoi International Book Festival and related supporting activities...

With the motto of culture as the foundation and art as the means, the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is expected to be an annual international cultural event in Hanoi in the near future, contributing to connecting countries and ethnic groups, promoting people-to-people exchanges.

At the same time, it enhances mutual understanding and trust between Vietnam and the international community, affirms the important role and contribution of culture in the implementation of the United Nations' sustainable development goals, and ensures peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
