The Vietnam Economic Olympiad 2023 (VEO 2023) is considered an ideal playground for students to demonstrate their analytical skills, logical thinking and ability to solve business, economic and financial problems occurring in life.

VOE 2023: Raising awareness and sparking students' interest in business, economics and finance

In preparation for the goal of winning more medals at the International Economics Olympiad (IEO 2023), recently, on May 26, the Organizing Committee in Vietnam officially launched the Vietnam Economics Olympiad 2023 ( Vietnam Economics Olympiad - VEO ), allowing high school students (from grade 10 to grade 12) nationwide to register to participate.

The Vietnam Economic Olympiad 2023 is considered an ideal playground for students to demonstrate their analytical skills, logical thinking and ability to solve business, economic and financial problems occurring in life.

The purpose of the Competition is to raise awareness and arouse students' interest in business, economic and financial issues that occur on a daily basis. This will help students orient their careers and master the skills necessary for future success.

The Vietnam Economics Olympiad is an annual competition for high school students in the field of Economics and Finance organized by the National Center for Sustainable Development of GeneralEducation Quality - Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences in collaboration with Edmicro Education Company Limited.

At VEO, in addition to theoretical questions, students participating in the contest also have the opportunity to develop their skills in analyzing financial and business knowledge through practical situations. In particular, through the contest, candidates can also improve their English speaking ability, presentation skills, etc., which will be very helpful for their future.

VEO 2023: Candidates will go through 2 online rounds

Candidates will go through 2 online rounds and a debate round with the language used being English. In which round 1 is a test with 30 multiple choice questions, in round 2, in addition to 20 multiple choice questions, there will be 5 more essay questions to assess the candidate's analytical ability.

Candidates with high achievements in round 2 will directly participate in the speech contest in front of members of the Expert Council and Advisors of the Organizing Committee to select 5 excellent candidates of the VEO exam to represent the Vietnamese team to participate in the International Economics Olympiad.

Held right after the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2023 is scheduled to take place in Greece at the end of July. After two years of being held in Vietnam, the exam has attracted much attention from schools and students in the country, with thousands of candidates registering to participate every year from all provinces and cities.

In 2022, among the candidates who won the International Economics Olympiad Medal, Nguyen Minh Khoa, a student majoring in Mathematics at Thang Long High School for the Gifted (Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province), stood out. As an excellent student who won the First Prize in Week 1, February, and Quarter 2 of the Road to Olympia 2022 contest, the First Prize in the Vietnam Economics Olympiad (VEO 2022); Bronze Medal in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO 2022), Khoa received a lot of attention and praise from the audience.

Khoa shared: "I am interested in how the economy works, how the market moves and changes every day, or how economic factors influence each other and impact the world as a whole. Through studying for VEO & IEO, I have changed my perception of the surrounding economic and financial issues."

VEO 2023 registration period from May 29 to June 16

To participate in the Vietnam Economics Olympiad 2023, candidates can register now in two ways:

+ Register by school : Candidates register directly with teachers at school. The school collects a list of candidates according to the Organizing Committee's form and sends it to email [email protected].

+ Individual registration : Candidates fill in all information according to the registration form at: https://forms.gle/ByAT2vyTZNqsDmQF6

+ Registration deadline is from now until June 16, 2023.

+ Exam fee: Free. In addition, candidates can pay a separate fee to receive the uniform and exam books of the Vietnam Economics Olympiad.

+ Exam format: online allows all candidates, regardless of knowledge level, social and geographical position, to participate in the Vietnam Economics Olympiad (VEO).

The Vietnam Economics Olympiad (VEO) was held for the first time in 2021 with the participation of nearly 1,500 candidates from 64 provinces and cities and nearly 30 high schools nationwide.

At the International Economics Olympiad, the first year, Vietnamese students won 2 Bronze Medals , then won 4 more Bronze Medals in the second year, along with high team achievements in a number of competitions.
