After reducing interest rates on all deposit products, except for 36-month terms in early May, Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) has increased deposit interest rates again, with an increase of 0.1-0.2%/year for deposit terms from 1-5 months and a decrease of 0.2%/year for terms from 6-15 months for online deposits.
According to the online interest rate schedule applied by Eximbank on weekdays, the bank interest rate for 1-2 month term with interest paid at the end of the term increased by 0.1%/year to 4.1%/year.
Bank interest rates for 3-5 month terms increased by 0.2%/year to 4.3%/year.
However, the interest rate for 6-9 month term was adjusted down by 0.2%/year to only 4.9%/year.
Eximbank also reduced 0.2%/year for 12-15 month term deposit interest rate to 5.1%/year.
Meanwhile, interest rates for 18-36 month deposits remain unchanged at 5.6% per year.
Similar adjustments, online savings interest rates with monthly interest, applied from Monday to Friday, are as follows: 3-5 month term is 4.1%/year; 6-9 month term is 4.7%/year; 12-15 month term is 4.9%/year and 18-36 month term is 5.4%/year.
Thus, the online interest rate for receiving interest at the end of the term is 0.2% higher per year than the monthly interest rate.
The change and difference in interest rates are also similar in the latest online deposit interest rate table applied by Eximbank for deposits on the last two days of the week.
Accordingly, the interest rate for 1-2 month term deposits, paid at the end of the term, increased to 4.2%/year; the interest rate for 3-5 month term deposits increased to 4.4%/year.
On the contrary, the savings interest rate for 6-9 month term decreased to 5%/year; the 12-15 month term decreased to 5.2%/year.
The interest rate for 18-36 month term savings is still maintained at 5.7%/year. This is the highest online savings interest rate currently announced by Eximbank.
Online savings interest rates with monthly interest payments and weekend savings products are 0.2%/year lower than choosing to receive interest at the end of the term.
For the remaining savings products, such as counter savings for individual customers, savings for people aged 50 and over..., Eximbank adjusted interest rates down for many terms.
Of which, the interest rate mobilized at the counter, term of 6-11 months decreased by 0.2%/year to 4.7%/year; term of 12-15 months also decreased by 0.2%/year to 4.9%/year.
Currently, the highest interest rate at the counter listed by Eximbank is 5.4%/year, term 18-60 months.
The interest rate of the “combo casa” product has also been adjusted down by 0.2%/year for a term of 6-15 months, to only 4.9-5.1%/year for regular customers and 5.5-5.7%/year for priority customers.
In early May, Eximbank changed the interest rate schedule for all deposit products. Accordingly, the bank increased the interest rate by 0.3%/year for the 36-month term and reduced the interest rate for all remaining terms by 0.1-0.3%/year.
Since the beginning of the month, 3 banks have increased deposit interest rates: Techcombank, Bac A Bank and Eximbank.
Eximbank is also one of two banks (along with MB) that has reduced deposit interest rates for some terms since the beginning of May. However, while Eximbank has both reduced and increased deposit interest rates for some terms, MB has twice reduced deposit interest rates for all terms.
