Cao Minh Chau won second prize nationwide in the UPU International Letter Writing Competition.

Among approximately 1.5 million letters sent to the organizing committee, Minh Chau is the only contestant in the Mekong Delta to win a prize in this year's contest. The contest is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , the Vietnam Writers' Association, the Vietnam Post Corporation, and the Tien Phong and Nhi Dong Newspapers.

This year, the contest theme is: “Imagine you are the ocean. Write a letter to someone explaining why and how they should take good care of you.” The contest theme is linked to the goal of “Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources” in the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations. The contest letter is a creative product of the individual student, written in prose form according to the theme of the contest (not yet published in newspapers or books), no longer than 800 words. The contest letter must be presented clearly, neatly, handwritten on one side of the paper...

In the creative imaginary letter, Minh Chau transformed into the ocean and urgently wrote a letter to stop the angry god Poseidon from creating a great flood, with the belief that humans still have conscience and will awaken and act to restore and protect the ocean. Minh Chau shared that she was very surprised and moved to receive this noble award. Ms. Tran Thi Chau Tran (Literature teacher, also the teacher assigned to be in charge of the UPU Letter Writing Contest of the Pedagogical Practice High School) shared: “Cao Minh Chau has a talent for literature, loves writing stories and has many creative ideas in studying. Recently, she won the Encouragement Prize in Literature in the city-level excellent student competition. In addition to her passion for writing, Minh Chau also loves music . This is the third consecutive year that the Pedagogical Practice High School has had students win national prizes in the UPU Letter Writing Competition. In previous years, the school had made its mark with the “Promising Writer” and the Encouragement Prizes.
