Greenhouse gas emissions from the health sector account for 4.4 - 4.6% of global carbon emissions. Health is the sector that contributes the most to greenhouse gas emissions directly through waste, wastewater and indirectly through electricity use, the production chain of goods and services from the health system.

In the context of climate change becoming one of the most serious global challenges to human health, conducting a survey of greenhouse gas emissions in the health sector is of particular importance and urgency. Surveying greenhouse gas emissions in the health sector not only serves the internal management goals of health facilities but also contributes to the implementation of national commitments to reduce emissions and adapt to climate change. Through accurate survey data, the health sector can identify key emission areas, thereby proposing intervention solutions.
