Ready for the National Phu Dong Sports Festival phase 1 in 2024

The National Phu Dong Sports Festival is an annual activity chaired by the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with ministries, branches and localities, organized every four years. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this activity was interrupted from 2016 (the 9th time) until 2024 when the 10th time will be held.

This activity aims to promote the school movement, regular practice and competition of sports among students to improve health, physical development and contribute to comprehensive education . At the same time, implementing the goal of fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education and training in the spirit of Resolution 29 and contributing to discovering students' sports talents.

The 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 is held in 5 regions: Region 1 in Phu Tho province, region 2 in Thai Nguyen province, region 3 in Quang Nam province, region 4 in Dak Lak province, region 5 in Ben Tre province. Phase 2 is held in Hai Phong city.

According to the plan, the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024, phase 1 of region 4, hosted by Dak Lak province, will open the regions in phase 1. The organization time is from April 20-28, 2024.

In Dak Lak province, a working delegation from the Department of Physical Education (Ministry of Education and Training) inspected the facilities and organizational conditions at the venues where the 11 competitions of the Phu Dong Sports Festival will take place and worked with the Organizing Committee of Dak Lak province.

According to the report of the Organizing Committee, to organize the National Phu Dong Sports Festival in Region 4, Dak Lak province has established specialized sub-committees and assigned tasks to each sub-committee. The sub-committees have deployed preparations for professional work, human resources, finance, facilities, emulation and rewards, security work, health care, reception work, celebrations, information and propaganda... according to the schedule.

It is expected that about 3,000 students from 13 provinces and cities will attend the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Region 4 in 2024 in Dak Lak province. Therefore, in addition to preparing facilities and competition conditions such as playgrounds, equipment, tools, etc., the Dak Lak Provincial Organizing Committee also pays special attention to preparing accommodation, travel conditions, ensuring security, safety, food hygiene and safety, etc. for students, teachers, and staff participating in the Phu Dong Sports Festival.

Discussing the preparation work of Dak Lak province up to now, Director of Dak Lak Department of Education and Training Pham Dang Khoa - Head of the Organizing Committee said: Dak Lak has experience in organizing large events with up to tens of thousands of participants, so the organization of Phu Dong Sports Festival is suitable. However, the province is not subjective but focuses on careful preparation, anticipating situations to ensure the best conditions for this Phu Dong Sports Festival.

After the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Region 4 in 2024 in Dak Lak province, phase 1 will continue to be held in region 1 in Phu Tho province. After phase 1 in 5 regions, the 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Phase 2 is expected to take place at the end of July 2024 in Hai Phong city.
