Volunteer group from Quang Binh province gives gifts to support people in Nam Tong flood area.
After traveling thousands of kilometers, right after arriving at Nam Luc commune, Dinh Xuan Hau and members of the volunteer group from Quang Binh province continued their journey on foot for more than 4 kilometers to the top of Nam Tong. At nearly 8 p.m., without eating or drinking, they visited and supported the families affected by the accident with 120 million VND; the group also presented a truck of essential goods to Nam Luc commune to support people in the disaster area. "With the spirit of the whole country turning to our compatriots in difficult circumstances, we came here to support the families with the hope that they will soon find their relatives and stabilize their lives," said Dinh Xuan Hau, a volunteer group from Quang Binh province.
Necessities were brought to the people by volunteer groups crossing mountains and forests.
On the top of Nam Tong, about 2 km from the landslide site, dozens of households who lost all their homes and property due to the landslide are taking shelter here. Due to the landslide, the only way to the village is on foot. Over mountains and forests, but in recent days, hundreds of volunteers from all over the country have still come to the people. "When we moved up here, we received a lot of help from many people, with plenty of food and safe, secure accommodation. We thank everyone for their help and sharing," said Sung A Tu, Ban Cai hamlet, Nam Tong village, Nam Luc commune, Bac Ha district.
Many stories of humanity and sharing were written in the flood-hit areas. This is a great material and spiritual resource for the people here to overcome the disaster. "Although the traffic routes were cut off and we had to walk many kilometers, many organizations, individuals and philanthropists brought necessities here. That helped the search and rescue team and the people here to ensure their immediate lives," said Ms. Truong Thi Hao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Luc Commune, Bac Ha District.
Not only in Nam Luc, but also in many localities in the province, every day there are still dozens of volunteer groups coming to the people. In the midst of loss and pain, the sharing and support of the community is helping people in the flooded areas to confidently overcome and soon rebuild their lives.
