The 7th National Book Awards Ceremony in 2024 will take place on November 29, at the Hanoi Opera House, with many new points in the award structure, as well as the organization form.
According to the Organizing Committee, this year's awards will honor 58 sets of books; with 59 awards, including 3 A prizes; 10 B prizes; 21 C prizes; 21 Encouragement prizes and 4 Readers' Favorite Book awards, including 1 book that "made a double" by winning 2 award categories.

The titles selected by the Final Jury for the 7th National Book Awards fall into 6 categories: Politics - Economics; Social Sciences and Humanities; Natural Sciences and Technology; Culture, Literature and Arts; Children; and Books Favorite by Readers.
This is the first time the Award has a category for books that are loved by readers, with four nominations: "The Story of the Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly" by Luis Sepúlveda (translator: Phuong Huyen); "Nameless Summer" by Nguyen Nhat Anh, "The Teacher" by Nguyen Chi Vinh; "How Much Is Youth Worth" by Rosie Nguyen.
According to the leader of the Vietnam Publishing Association, after 6 times of organization, up to now, the National Book Award has become an outstanding cultural event attracting the attention of the public, having a strong influence, and being highly appreciated by the leaders of the Party and State.
From there, it contributes significantly to bringing books to readers, spreading and multiplying knowledge values, cultural values in social life, raising the value of each award-winning book to match the expectations of the majority of readers; becoming a valuable spiritual asset in every family and country.
This year's award has many new features such as: Expanding the scope of book nominations to include readers and press and media agencies; increasing the percentage of points to promote the spread of award-winning books; adding a new category to the award structure, the Readers' Favorite Book Award...
In 2024, 51/57 publishers had books participating in the award (10 more publishers than the 6th National Book Award).
The number of books participating in the 7th National Book Award is 372 titles and book series, including 455 books (60 more titles and book series, 20 more books than the 6th National Book Award).
The 7th National Book Award invited 81 experts, scientists , and managers who met the standards and conditions to participate in judging the awards, most of whom were writers and leading scientists with prestige and rich experience in judging awards.
With the support of businesses and sponsors, the 7th National Book Awards continues to maintain the same prize value with 100 million VND for the first prize, 50 million VND for the second prize, 30 million VND for the third prize, 10 million VND for the encouragement prize and 20 million VND for the book prize that readers love. The total prize value has increased to nearly 2 billion VND.
Within the framework of the award ceremony, the Vietnam Publishing Association also coordinated with the Information and Communications Publishing House to compile and publish the book "National Book Awards - Converging the quintessence, spreading knowledge".
