
On November 18, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training organized a meeting with the student team participating in the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2025.
The Hanoi city student team consists of 6 members from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, namely: Hoang Khoi Nguyen (grade 10 Physics 1), Nguyen Dong Quan (grade 10 Chemistry 1), Do Manh Hung (grade 10 Math 1), Tran Ngoc Hung (grade 10 Math 1), Trinh Nguyen Hung (grade 10 Physics 2), Do Bao Trang (grade 10 Physics 1).
The six students were selected through qualifying rounds with the participation of students with outstanding abilities in natural sciences from high schools in Hanoi. To prepare for this Olympic, they also received intensive training, many specialized topics guided by university lecturers.
The 2025 International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) will be held in Sochi (Russian Federation) from November 23 to December 3, with the participation of 24 countries and territories. According to the Organizing Committee, this year's exam has many new points when the program framework and the content of the exams are broader and more difficult, the order of the exams has changed when the practical exam is put first. In particular, the duration of each exam session has increased to 4 hours (instead of 3 hours as before).
IJSO is a world youth science competition for students aged 15. The knowledge of the exam is comprehensive, integrating 3 natural science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). Candidates take the exam in English with 3 tests: multiple choice, theory (individual scoring) and practice (team scoring).
