On September 20, Trung Vuong Primary School, Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat, announced that it would temporarily stop organizing meals for boarding students from September 22 due to lack of food sources to meet the needs of students and parents.

The suspension of the lunch service will last until the conditions are met and parents will be notified. During the suspension, the school will notify parents to proactively pick up their children immediately after the end of the school day according to the school's schedule.

This move was made after many parents reacted to the accusation that Trung Vuong Primary School had contracted with a food supplier that did not ensure the quality of the students' meals.

At a heated meeting with parents on the evening of September 18, Ms. Nguyen Thai Quynh Nga, Principal of Trung Vuong Primary School, confirmed that poor quality food was discovered in the kitchen. Afterwards, the school promptly handled the situation and did not allow students to consume this food.

Regarding the above incident, on September 20, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and local authorities to strengthen food safety management at boarding schools.

In particular, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to coordinate with the Provincial Police and related units to verify, investigate responsibility and report before September 23. In addition, inspection teams will conduct surprise inspections of collective kitchens, especially at large schools, to correct violations.

The education sector needs to coordinate with the Parents' Association to monitor kitchens and equip teachers and students with knowledge about food safety.

The provincial police are tasked with strictly handling violations in the business of poor quality food, especially smuggling and production of fake food.
